"Accomodation had been double booked. Instead of cancelling the booking from their end the host messaged me on trivago, since I was expecting a message anyway for the login code, and you have to login to read messages I left it. Host also alerted trivago it was double booked, who did not contact me either. Drove all the way to Dunedin with 2 kids, stranded and nowhere to stay. Spent $400 to stay at scenic circle for the first night, Dunedin was booked out for the second night so we had to drive all the way home again. Spent many hours arranging activities, as well as spending money on dinner bookings all of which we could not do."

"We had full clear views overlooking the ocean from our room. The scenery was beautiful,.So relaxing watching people surfing and enjoying the beach and local area. Eateries were within easy walking distance. Highly recommend Salt Bar and restaurant. Our room was very clean, well stocked and easily accessed from the garage parking via a lift. Our favourite place of accommodation so far on our trip. Definitely recommend and would stay here again. Thank you."

"The room was clean and parking was very good. There are plenty of options for takeaways nearby. We were disappointed with check in though. We were at a family funeral and were aware check-in was early. We tried to call reception about 7 minutes past 6 to apologise for being late and to ask if they would leave a key hidden somewhere. Leaving our family earlier than we did would have been rude. We had to rush to get to the motel. The reception area was locked and the outdoor lighting was very poor. No one answered the bell outside reception. We finally found a note with our names and about 4 parties who were in the same boat. In fairness we were late but we had prepaid. Hoteliers do need to eat and have down time but 6pm is hardly midnight and keeping people up until midnight. "

"The room is spacious and the continental breakfast is great. However, there are five other rooms on the property, and foot traffic in the corridor can be quite loud at times. The bathroom is not attached and is a bit of a hike from the room."
