The reception was welcoming and pretty. I was a bit worried walking to the room for the first time as the corridors were a bit tired, but the room was modern, Clean and comfortable. The 24hr cafe had good choice of food. We had buffet breakfast everyday which was nice. During the day we ordered lunch from the cafe and drank drinks from the pool bar. My only gripe was that the cocktails all tasted horrible, so I ended up sticking to JD and Coke or Wine. Not the house wine, that was also rubbish. In the evenings we dined a la carte in the restaurant on 2nd floor, Temptations, some of the chefs little Add ons, amuse bouche, didn't really work, and his idea of a soufflé was laughable. But apart from that his dishes were so lovely. Perfect steak, lamb rack, sea bass. Etc with some great home made jus or Demi glaze. Fantastic! Also, apart from one night when we spent £60 on extra nice bottle of wine instead of the normal £25 ish. The price was cheap (£40-£60 for 2 with wine and 3 courses) and definately worth the splurge rather than the buffet which we actually never tried.
We also used the Spa twice. Definately not as clean and luxurious as we're used to but also very cheap. Full body massage about £30. I was bit shocked that they don't provide the disposable pants and expect you to go naked or keep your bikini bottoms on. But apart from me being a bit precious and spoilt, overall it's a nice hotel with good food and service at a cheap price.
