Belsay Hall from the east Looking west from the approach road across the park to Belsay Hall. For centuries, the Belsay estate was the home of the Middleton family. They abandoned their original residence, Belsay Castle,in the early nineteenth century when Sir Charles Monck moved the family into the neo-classical Belsay Hall.

Pylons and the River Blyth. Here, near Hedchester Law, the Blyth is only a small Burn at the bottom of the first dip in the picture, marked by the tops of the trees. Somehow the pylons, striding away into the distance, are not an eyesore!
