"Cahal pech resort review
We stayed here for 2 days and enjoyed every part of our stay except for the spa services/massages.
Everyone including the staff, tour guides, and taxi drivers were very friendly, professional and attentive.
Our cabana was great, we especially enjoyed our hammock and the views were amazing.
Unfortunately, on our last night we booked 90 minute deep tissue massages and only got 60 minute horrible Swedish massages and were still charged $20 extra for deep tissue even after complaining and explaining that we didn’t receive what we booked. The therapists seemed to be amateurs and untrained. This was our only complaint and no one at the resort has offered any resolution.
I would still recommend this resort just stay away from the spa."
"Good basic accommodation. Lots of space in room considering two double beds. You do have to come upstairs, no elevator. On good street for walking, close to local market. Parking available."
"What a lovely place to stay, and what great service! Under Paula's stellar leadership, the staff was terrific. Got great advice about things to do, better than what was in the guidebooks. The room was spacious and comfortable and the food was good, We enjoyed the quiet pool under beautiful trees, where we sae an agouti scampering by. It's in town, but up a hill, so it's convenient but has a nice view over the valley. On-site parking was convenient and secure. It's literally next door to the Cahal Pech Mayan site, which we got to tour that almost by ourselves."
"We stayed in the Lovely Penthouse, which had two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a fully functional kitchen, dining room and living room. AC units and celing fans kept the entire apartment nice and cool and comfortable. The modern look of the apartment was very appealing to us. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit and an iron and ironing board.
Kitchen amenities include: a full-sized oven and gas stove, a full-sized refrigerator with ice and water dispenser, a microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, a tea pot, crock pot and blender. There is also a water dispenser with a 5 gallon sized jug of purified water. There are dishes and silverware for a group of six. Belmopan has a fairly big open-air market that sells a variety of fresh produce and food. There is also a store within walking distance that sells groceries, personal and household goods. There are cleaning supplies in the laundry room if needed. Each bathroom has a shower with a fully stocked dispenser of shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap. There is a hair dryer in each bathroom as well.
The Ansen Place is in a fairly quiet area of town and very secure. Each unit has an assigned parking space. We had a slight issue with one of the AC units not turning on one day, I informed the person at the front gate about it before we went to the zoo that day. When we returned, the AC was functioning once more.
Everything was just fantastic and we'd stay there again in a heartbeat!"
"The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional. The villa was beautiful and kept clean and up-to-date. Everything in the unit worked. The food was delicious albeit different from standard fair.
The horseback riding tour was the best value for the money at the resort for things to do.
The only thing I had trouble finding a chair that was comfortable the living room furniture was pretty, but very hard to sit on. While the food was delicious, the portion sizes for the prices were on the high side. The Seafood pasta did not come with any pasta and only a few pieces of seafood. A bottle of Heineken for $11 was the highest I have paid for one at any resort in Belize even on the Cayes."
