"Breakfast was good and the area around the property felt safe. The outside was nice and bright, but inside was very dark and showing its age. We weren’t expecting the Ritz, but it was definitely below the standard we’re used to for the area. We visit family in Kelso 2-3 times a year and have stayed in 7-8 different hotels that all felt better than this location. Our biggest issue was the cleanliness. Our 3 year old had black feet after running around on the carpet for an hour, and the towels in the bathroom didn’t feel like they’d been thoroughly cleaned. Another strange thing was that there were always housekeeping carts and staff in the hallway, not just during the usual check-in hours, which makes me think they were short staffed and everyone was juggling multiple duties. Housekeeping and breakfast serving staff were friendly and helpful, but the front desk staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. They were literally always in the back room and you had to ring a bell to get them, and my mother-in-law said she smelled like weed and seemed out of it. Despite all of this, all the guests were pleasant and friendly, so I may just be overly sensitive to these things. Overall, it was an ok place to stay, but we’ve found much better options for the same or lower price in Ridgefield, Vancouver, or even Kelso, so we’ll stay there next time."

"I booked this room last minute and arrived late at night. Check in was easy. Got inside of the room and it smelt like smoke and there were cigarette burns on the blankets and stains. I returned to the front desk and informed the man that I could not stay in the room. He assured me that a refund would not be an issue and to contact Expedia. I was refunded without any issues. Even though the room was not to my standards I appreciate the gentleman being polite and able to assist."

"Breakfast was pretty good, close to grocery store, we loved mini golf up that way. My only complaint was there was absolutely 100% someone smoking in the first floor, less the 30 feet from the front desk when we arrived, was pretty stinky."
