"We love staying at the surf tides because it is an affordable way to stay right on the ocean with a balcony and gas fireplace. It is a bit rundown, but I prefer that to fixing it up fancy and not being able to afford it. Parking is more than adequate and there are plenty of things to do in restaurants to go to nearby. We particularly like the Puerto Vallarta restaurant that is just a few blocks walk. The surf tides offers a wonderful game room, including our favorite, shuffleboard. The pool is very nice as is the hot tub. For two years in a row, the sauna and steam room have been out of order. The beds could use new mattresses, I put a large towel under the mattress where my hip goes so that the mattress would be flat."
