I liked Misifus because it is ideally located. Walking distance to shopping, groceries, restaurants and the ocean but far enough away from the town centre to be quiet. Kate is helpful and speaks great English. It has an awesome upper deck that you can relax in, play cards or just watch the people and the ocean. There is a beautiful pool to swim or just cool off in. And for short stays, breakfast was included and cooked fresh every day. The property and rooms are very clean. The kitchen has very thing you need and they give you a big bottle of water which lasted us 9 days. The water is hot in the shower. Everyone was welcoming and friendly.

The pool area is beautiful and roof top terrace offers a wonderful view. The complex and rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The location is within walking distance of the ocean and town core with its restaurants, stores and weekly market.

We enjoyed the location, a nice distance from the centre of town and a block from the beach. The building, pool and surroundings are attractive and well maintained. Cate was always easy to communicate with and very helpful throughout our stay.

YES on Casa Misifus.
Fantastic pool and rooftop terrace are amazing and Fantastic staff. Internet was at times weak, but that is standard for small Mexican towns especially during busy times. Bed was supposed to be a King, but ended up as two twins pushed together but was not a problem since they used King mattress covers and sheets. Great location, an easy walk to Centro but far enough away to not have party noise bother you.

Very nice big clean room. Happy to have the little kitchen. Grounds and pool clean. Beach is across the street which you can rent umbrellas/tables and hardly anyone is there. Close to all facilities.

Rooms were clean and spacious, nice pool and great rooftop deck for sunset viewing. Property is very secure, and pleassnt staff. Microwaves in the kitchenete would be nice , breakfast was limited but good enough to start your day!

Our Favorite Barra Get Away
We have stayed at Casa Misifus twice now. We will be returning again and again in the future. The rooms are simple, but very clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and ready to help at a moments notice. The grounds are beautifully kept. The rates...excellent. We couldn't ask for any more.

Fantastic little hotel!
Absolutely Fantastic! Room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. Garden and pool were beautiful, quiet and clean. Throughly enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Coffee was delicious! Beautiful, comfortable room, tropical pool oasis
Wonderful property, spacious, clean, pretty room with a comfortable giant bed, couch and table with chairs, fully equipped kitchen (minus microwave). Gorgeous pool surrounded by tropical plants. Great communication with Cate, instructions on how to find hotel and more. Simple but solid Breakfast (fruit, eggs, beans, french toast). Relatively quite neighborhood, easy walk downtown. Nice ocean views from sun deck. Would definitely come back!

Very Nice Hotel in Barra de Navidad
We came to Barra for a day from Manzanillo to visit friends from back home in Canada. Casa Misifus fit our needs perfectly and the hosts Kareen and Ricardo were over the top friendly and helpful. The room was not fancy or on the beach but it was clean, quiet and secure. The home made breakfast was outstanding. A short walk to the main beach and downtown area.

Property is in a location that is convenient to the town center and easy walking distance. There was no shampoo or hair dryer in the room. We had our own so this was not a problem for us but could be for others. We were not able to connect to the internet during the stay.

Very personal care. My husband was sick and I wasn’t feeling well the day we left and they made us a home remedy that was very helpful. Cate also bought a hairdryer for me as they didn’t have one on the property. The property was beautiful, clean and comfortable. It has a nice pool and lovely terrace with a great view. The breakfasts were excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Attractive large 'casa' hotel. Good 3 story building with 11 large suites, patios, and good fair size swimming pool. Well furnished and equipped. Alright breakfast. Competent manager/caretaker. Alright staff. Suitable for long stay.

Relaxing beach view in small town
I went in the off-season, so it was very quiet. The room was clean, and the kitchenette was well supplied for cooking - bit more than the usual pot, pan, and a couple of plates. There was no TV in the room, which is relaxing. Parking was available in front as well as the side. The beach view from the terrace was beautiful at sunset.

Lovely hotel, close to downtown
This is a lovely hotel, with nice staff. Not the best place to go if you are not a dog lover. We had the unfortunate experience of being robbed during our stay, but the hotel staff went above and beyond to help us. For the most part it is a secure hotel however there is one exposed wall that needs security improvement. We believe this work is in progress.

Great place to stay in Barra de Navidad
Mucho gracias Casa Misifus! We were more than comfortable in our large and very clean rooms. Cate was friendly and very knowledgeable about Barra. The location is very close to town and at the same time just far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Location and features misrepresented
Hotel room and as described and very clean. The breakfasts were wonderful! Hotel was not 100 meters from the beach; it was close to a kilometer as the crow flies and a 10 to 15 minute walk to gain access. The only place to sit outside at the hotel was on the roof which had 2 umbrellas and a couple planters. One had to stand to have any view. Hotel is beside a busy highway and across the street from a very active helicopter pad. We were grateful that Cate allowed us to stay only 5 of the planned 14 day stay so we could move to another hotel that offered the beachside location and comfort that we were looking for.

We're sorry you did not enjoy your stay. The great majority of our guests feel comfortable, pampered, safe and rested while staying with us. Our hotel is normally very quiet and tranquil, which is why our guests choose us. They enjoy the large 15 x 10 meter terrace with expansive views of the bay and many spend the day sunning themselves in the chaise lounges or enjoying cocktails and watching the sunsets over the ocean. Unfortunately there is a currently helicopter working close to the hotel on a salvage operation in the bay, a situation which we have no control over. Beach access has changed as a result, as that is where the helicopter is temporarily stationed. However there is access just 4 blocks from the hotel, about a 5 minute walk. We do appreciate your positive remarks, and are sorry that we could not do more to satisy you.

Convenient and clean hotel
We stayed there for 2 weeks, just outside enough of the centro to be quiet and close enough to be there in 5 minutes. Very nice people. A bigger town close by and many cheap buses to get there. The beach is a little steep and good waves, one has to be careful when walking by the water or could get wet more than wanted.

MISFIS WAS EASY TO LOCATE--AND REALLY PLEASED WITH CLEANLINESS--one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in.Would of maybe liked a TV--or radio--but understand why there was not--ensured quiet Breakfast was great--owners/staff really tried to please

Casa Misifus is a small, quiet hotel oasis (no children under 8) overlooking the beach and walking distance to everything. There are long term guests and week about guests. The women who manage the hotel are lovely, made us Mexican breakfast each morning and gave us suggestions - and directions - for things to do and see. We delighted in making friends with the 2 resident dogs as well. Take a laptop/tablet to use the consistent internet access for online entertainment (i.e netflicks) as there is (blissfully) no tv. We would return in a moment and highly recommend.

Casa Misifus
Great place to stay, with very clean rooms. The pool is also very clean and feels great on a hot afternoon. The staff are very, very helpful and equally friendly. All details are thoughtfully organized & designed. The spa that is part of the hotel gives great massages, with very professional standards, and amazingly relaxing results.

Casa Misifus was perfect for my wife and I. We loved having a refrigerator and kitchenette, the a/c was SO nice to come home to, and the pool was perfect and refreshing. The proprietors were friendly and helpful and very accommodating about our breakfast needs. Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely recommend it. Our only complaint is that it's a much longer walk to the beach than we'd thought. A lot of sites list it as one block from the beach, but really you have to walk into town to actually access the beach, about a ten-minute walk. The way it sounds on other sites, and the way it looks on the map make it seem like the beach is right across the street.
