The location is outstanding. The small common room on the first floor with the balcony is a huge bonus. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Overall, a remarkable stay in Barcelona.

The hotel is in a perfect location on La Ramblas, we were on the 3rd floor in a nice room with plenty of space and the bonus of an enclosed outside private terrace. Breakfast was included and was excellent with a nice range of food and drink on offer. Hotel staff were very helpful and provided any information we needed willingly. They also sold chilled bottled water from reception for no more than from the local stores - very handy. Overall we had a lovely stay which did not cost the earth which is rare in a perfect location in Barcelona - thoroughly recommended.

The hotel is old, but clean. You must turn in your key every time you leave the hotel - which was a little concerning to me. The service is very basic. No wash rags given - bath towel and hand towel only. Little plastic bags of conditioner are provided, along with toothbrushes and tiny containers of toothpaste. The soap dispenser in the shower says it's shower gel and shampoo. The safe is not attached to anything, so potentially someone could pick it up and walk out with it. The beds have old spring mattresses, so not really comfortable and pillows are flat. The men at reception gave good directions to various sites, which was helpful. Despite there being an elevator, once I get off on my floor (second floor), there were about six steps up to my room, which was hard with suitcases. The hotel was just okay for one night, but I wouldn't stay at Cuatro Naciones again.

A perfectly reasonable place to stay in in the Gothic quarter. Very convenient for a great many parts of Barcelona- if this is your first landing spot in Spain and you have to kill the better part of a day waiting for your room to open up it is easy to do so in this neighborhood. Breakfast was pretty good, but the hotel in general was not exactly dripping in charm. The street is busy and hopping with activity at night especially which is actually pretty fun, but if you want a quieter experience look for a place along the narrower walkways of the quarter. In general a totally reasonable place to stay that was very fairly priced. No major complaints. If you're a super picky traveler you might not love it, but if you're experienced and more big picture in your approach you'll probably say "yep. fine."
