Hotel Excelsior

"The room was in poor condition and significantly below the standard advertised. The air conditioning was broken, making the room very uncomfortable. The bathroom contained black mold in several locations, towels were stained, water pressure was weak, and water temperature was inconsistent. The sheets and towels were threadbare, lamps on the bedside tables were unusable because there were no nearby outlets, and the draperies had large holes. Overall, the property was shabby, dirty, and not as described on Hotels.com. I brought these issues to the attention of the hotel staff, but they were rude and appeared unconcerned about the problems. No meaningful effort was made to address the situation. Neither hotels.com nor the staff would help me cancel with a refund. I was charged for 3 nights I didn't stay."

"The staff at Opera were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Especially Mihiala( Miki),who was especially kind and considerate. Thank you to Sasha at the front desk for accommodating our request. We found the food delicious and the breakfast wonderful. It was in a central location in Timisoara and close all Piatas. Thank you to all staff at Opera for making our stay memorable. Boutique hotel Casa del Sole

"Upon checking in, I found the room to be unclean, with blood stains on the bathroom towel and a shower handle that was completely detached. I was then required to change rooms and move all of my belongings to a different building after the issues with the room were discovered, and no assistance was offered during the process. The room itself was extremely small and had a very strange, impractical layout. The bed was also very uncomfortable, making it difficult to rest after a long day of travel. Upon check in, they also wanted to charge me an additional 10 euros per day to store my bicycle, which I had never heard about before. The only positive aspect of this property is the exterior of the building, which looks much better than the actual rooms inside."

"Fantastic hotel from top to bottom & fantastic staff, one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in if I’m honest, nothing was ever too much, only minor gripe was fire alarms went off twice on my last night, no great for a nights sleep before a long drive, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone."

"My wife and I were visiting Timisoara to visit our daughter at the university. This was an ideal place to meet up for breakfast and plan our day. The staff were extra helpful in every regard. We parked our rental car much of the time and simply walked to the river walk & old city areas. The room was comfy & quite new. We will come visit again and look forward to this jewel of a hotel."
