The Grand Hotel is superbly located. As I entered the lobby, I was warmly greeted and advised of the location of breakfast and also the times On arrival at my room I was immediately impressed by the amount of space I had and how richly furnished and decorated it was. The king sized bed was very comfortable and high standard furnishings were provided, along with effective air conditioning. Rooms were serviced daily and bedlinen changed every two days as a standard. The room was immaculately...

Excellent hotel near the old town & everything within walking distance. Was here over new year. Disappointed that the bar was closed by 12.30 on New Year’s Eve. Breakfast was excellent but the plates were cold everything you would want for breakfast was there. Spa was excellent first day was so busy so we decided to go after breakfast about 9 am & in the evening about 8 was quiet. & more manageable a lot of kids in during the day. Will definitely go back here.

Really high-spec hotel and room. All beautifully decorated and presented, including public areas. Young staff on reception were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Our twin apartment was small but top notch and very well equipped. It was handy to be able to get extra items such as pillows, toaster and iron from reception. On first impressions the area this side of the station where the hotel is located was not very nice. However, it was in fact safe and interesting, especially the markets....

Excellent hotel- they just get everything right, even dealing with problems. At one point we were miscommunicated breakfast time but the staff were so fantastic at dealing with the problem by ensuring that we were looked after that it not only wasn’t a problem - it was turned into a big positive. They take customer service very seriously. Excellent experience all round - other hotels could learn a lot. Great food. Lovely location. And very quiet l. All round well done !

Amazing quirky hotel - gorgeous building and decor. Very close to the Christmas markets. Loved the breakfast - lovely and fresh food

It's an amazing hotel ,with history touch. Beautifully decorated. Convenient location. Recommending this place to treat yourself.

Amazing hotel, located in the middle of everything and at the same time is quiet

Dobry standard pokoi. Hotel w bardzo ładnym miejscu nad jeziorem. W pokoju jest czajnik. Bezpłatny parking. Dobre śniadania. Polecam

Fantastic place to stay in and enjoy your holiday. The accommodation, the staff and location are superb!

Very nice hotel in a beautiful enviroment

2nd visit to the hotel. Very nice, large, well appointed room. Fantastic breakfast spread, didn't have time to use the spa facilities. Hotel is in a good position for the Old Town and restaurants, also airport bus stop very close. Highly recommended.

We stayed for a night recently and I must say the facilities are great. It was downtime in Jurmala, so nothing to do outside, but hotel's spa facilities made up for that without a doubt. And a pool bar-such simple, but great idea.Staff were not smiley and slightly rude at times, but professional and helpful. The upstairs bar needs the biggest improvement, but hotel, room, recreational activities-really high standard.

I was very impressed with this hotel when I visited the Latvian capital earlier this year. So, when the opportunity arose for a city break in Riga just before Christmas, the Hotel Valedemars was an obvious choice for me. As with my previous visit the hotel was spotlessly clean. It is well-located, just a short walk from the Old Town and adjacent to the Art Nouveau area. However, it is the staff that really make this hotel a success - friendly, courteous and professional. Nothing was ever too...

Lovely hotel, nice rooms, helpful staff and excellent breakfast! Very clean, nice decor. It is in the Art Nouveau area, which us definitely worth a look, and about 10 minutes walk from the Old Town through the park alongside the river that borders the city. Take a town walk with a guide - we went on a free walk, for which we tipped well - for Riga's interesting history. Lovely people as well. We loved it.

Great small hotel in Riga centre.

I really enjoyed my stay. The outside is very grand and the inside is stylish, contemporary and welcoming. The breakfast was outstanding. My room was beautiful and the bed linen was the best I've ever encountered in a number of years travelling for work. Everywhere was very clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful although could perhaps have been a bit warmer. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in Latvia.

Staff were very reassuring; airport transfer (booked through the hotel) was very sound and secure; jacuzzi bath was fun; good breakfasts; nice rooms; great city.
