"I hate to say it but it was a relief to check out (a day early) & move on to a larger brighter room in Tomar, then another in Lisbon. I’m slightly claustrophobic and may also have taken more melatonin/magnesium sleep supplements than I should have (they correlate with more intense dreams) but I didn’t sleep well at ZBL Porto. Great location but turns out I need windows (and closet or at least suitcase rack)."

"Friendly staff at check in and at breakfast. Reception staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Best breakfast ever with lots of choices to suit all tastes. Rooms really comfortable with beautiful en suite and fantastic shower. Coffee maker and pods and also kettle and tea bags in room. Double glazing cut outside noise out completely. Handy to metro line with direct route to airport. 10-15 walk to restaurants and bars. Enjoyed our 4 night stay."

"The staff were very good in the breakfast room, Carolina was very pleasant and cheerful and always willing to be helpful, Phillipe was trying hard with his English a very nice young man. The breakfast room was very cold, air conditioning was on full blast so that when we got to our table with the warm breakfast it was cold. We paid extra to be in a river view room, this was a mistake as it was on the cold side of the hotel it didn't get any sun coming into the room through the day , when we came back to the room after being in the warm sunshine the room was very very cold, the Aircon was set for Summertime so no heat in the room. We told the reception about this and the Lady said it could not be changed and that we could have some extra blankets if we wanted them. but this would not help the atmosphere in the room. We had brought HOT WATER BOTTLES with us so that helped when we were in bed. We had booked for nine nights but had to leave after five nights as my wife caught a chill."

"We had the most incredible stay from start to finish. We had our puppy Quincy with us and the from the moment we walked into the hotel we were treated so well by all the staff and they were so accommodating of Quincy. Room was spacious, and you couldn’t hear anyone through the walls. Bed super comfortable! Our room also had a dog bed, lovely bowls and a toy which was a lovely touch. We need to know Hilton’s secret because it always smells incredible! 😂 Truly have not a bad word to say about this hotel, the staff were truly amazing and we had some lovely conversations with them. We will definitely be back."

"We were quickly picked up by Marcos at the airport. Staff was extremely helpful when we had forgotten a few items (universal plug etc.) The self serve laundromat was around the corner and a few doors down there was an excellent restaurant called Estrela do Lima. The breakfast was delicious and had a wonderful variety of hot and cold items. We will definitely return to Hotel Jaguar."

"This was a very nice hotel on the banks of the Douro river, excellent restaurant with delicious Portuguese wines. My only complaint is that the restaurant doesn't open until 07:30 for breakfast so I was offer a reception breakfast which truly terrible. Plastic long life white bread, processed ham and cheese and sugary snack, and terrible coffee. Shame as that's what I remember but otherwise was excellent. "
