"Some beautiful furnishings throughout. Some areas a bit tired and in need of refurbishment. Staff were all excellent. Breakfast was good but felt dinner prices a bit excessive for what was served. We had a beautiful newly refurbished bathroom ( bedroom not ) so here’s hoping improvements are going on throughout the hotel. We would recommend and we will return."

"Queensberry hotel doesn’t exist- it’s a derelict ex pub. The owner took me to a guest house called the Waverley instead which was absolutely horrible. Shared bathroom and toilet which weren’t very clean and the shower had two temperatures, cold or far too hot. Room and bedding not clean. Very noisy. Dumfries hotels all booked up that weekend so I’d no choice but it didn’t feel like a safe place."
