My stay at Bamboo River House was amazing. Great spot, super comfortable, the pool was awesome, there was lots of birdwatching. Great spot to swim in the river right across from the property and I could walk into town and back at night.

This hotel is not where it is shown on the map. It’s about 1.5 kms from Dominical, along a dirt road. Not walkable. It’s also not close to the river. The host - or someone I assume was the host, as he never introduced himself - was quite rude to me, and not at all welcoming. As a result we didn’t stay, but found another place right in the village.

The location is magical but difficult to access without double traction vehicle. The closest restaurant, bar or grocery is located 1.5 km along of a rocky road. At my arrival I was allowed to check in only after 8 pm because the room wasn’t done; Incredible, isn’t it?

Phone number provided on reservation confirmation worked perfectly on WhatsApp to communicate with the host swiftly! Host went out of the way to ensure I had everything needed, even gave me a ride, local taxi information, and recommendations for sightseeing and bird watching. Host respected my privacy and I had a most excellent, relaxing time. I enjoyed taking care of myself and not having maid service everyday. The kitchen had everything I needed, the fans were pleasant in the humidity and the hammock was a most wonderful touch on the deck for reading.
