"We had 4 rooms and 3 generations of family staying for one night for our son's 30th birthday. The rooms windows did not open despite signs saying they did, and some of our party were uncomfortably warm overnight. There was one person on reception for check in. We were fortunate, only waiting 15 minutes, but at a time when there was a wedding and also a function on, as well as dozens checking in it seemed strange not to have more personnel manning the desk. The residents bar closed at 10.30pm and my daughter had to go to the function bar to get a round of drinks in, one German guest who had gone outside for a cigarette didn't make it back in time for a whisky, which he'd been looking forward to. Having said that the breakfast staff were wonderful and the breakfast buffet was very comprehensive, the hotel is just outside Aviemore and has plenty for kids to do (we had 4 aged 5 and under), but the pool had been closed the day we arrived. All and all we are unlikely to be back as apparently the heat in the bedrooms is a common complaint and nobody could explain why the bar closed that early."

"The hotel was perfect for our stay. Room was small but comfortable. Bathroom was nice except for very low water pressure in the shower. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was good as well. Garden was nice for a stroll. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Enjoyed our stay!"

"Beautiful property with the most friendly staff. Connor at front desk was extremely friendly and was able to help with everything we needed. The bar staff and restaurant staff in the morning were helpful and all with a smile. As we were traveling for days, the self serve laundry wash/dryer were very needed and easy to use. Would highly recommend this property."

"We had a nice one-night stay here and the family room we had was very well appointed and clean with quality fittings. The decor was good but could have been a bit more warm and inviting. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the breakfast was great - the food was well presented and fresh. There wasn't a bar as such but the reception staff were available to provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in the small lounge area. Again, I think the public areas could have had better lighting and more cosy decor to provide a more welcoming ambience but overall a great place to stay in the lovely town of Pitlochry."
