"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."

"Very helpful, we were going to be later than anticipated arriving, phoned to let them know, they reassured us it was no problem, everything was ready for our stay. Check-in at the bar was easy, staff showed us to our studio, staff very cheerful. Food in the pub was great, not just pub grub. Only downside, studio was small."

I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "Property was great, staff were friendly. I'd done online check-in so it was easy. My room was spacious, clean with a very modern bathroom and i love the fact theres a kettle in room. Bar in hotel was well stocked again friendly service and a great space to hang out as we worked out our plans for evening (i had colleague's staying in hotel). I didn't partake in breakfast but my colleagues did and they were very happy. Location is close to city centre lots of pubs and restaurants nearby. Hotel has its own parking. All in all couldnt fault my stay."

"Large spacious well presented room, only thing we found a bit of an issue, was the bathroom was not in the room, you had your own private bathroom but it was down the corridor so a bit of a pain if you just wanted to nip to wash your hands etc ..."

"The hotel was very appealing on arrival, parking was very good and reasonable, staff on arrival was excellent Declan was very approachable, friendly and accomodating.we throughly enjoyed our stay, breakfast was very nice and lots of choice. We would definately book again to stay."

"Single room was very spacious. Bathroom too. Bed comfortable. The hotel is very near the town centre and Valley Gardens so could walk in easily in c5mins. Despite this it is in a very quiet location. There is ample parking but a bit pricey."
