"A stranger opened our room door with their key card while we were in our room at this Quality Inn hotel on Miller St. Imagine how frightening we were. We went straight to the front desk to report the problem only to hear that one of their staff had mistakenly assigned another family to our room. Really?! And no one was in a rush to come to our room to make sure we know what just happened?
Then our key card randomly stopped working more than a couple of times and was required to be reactivated by front desk staff. The explanation was that sometimes it would stop working if it was kept next to a mobile phone. Oh and there was absolutely nothing they could do about it. Hmmm…. We have never had this issue with other hotel brands. What an inconvenience to have hauled all your stuff to your room just to find out your card key didn’t work. And nope, not their fault so no apology for the inconvenience.
Pillow cases had stains on them. The top of the toilet water tank had a layer of dust. Really? When was the last time the toilet was wiped down? Do they even change the bed sheets and pillow cases? Gross!
Breakfast with grey looking sausage patties and rubbery premade well done sunny side up eggs gave us a huge tummy ache and “the run” all day.
There was a sign that says “Under New Management” at the front desk counter. And we saw people wearing pajamas and slippers inside the office. So, does the new owner live there too? Extremely unprofessional.
BEWARE!"
"If this hotel had been a more expensive hotel, I would’ve given it less stars. But the hotel is priced perfectly for what it is. The breakfast was pretty good. I got the very last of the potatoes, so they were a little bit cold. I did not go and ask for more, and perhaps they would’ve given me fresh ones. The employees that I interacted with were friendly. Our room smelled like ammonia or pee. We opened the window and that seemed to help a little bit. Also, there’s not a blackout curtain so the light is pretty bright at 5:30 in the morning. We didn’t walk around the area at all because we were going to a concert at The Gorge Amphitheater, but I never felt unsafe.
I would definitely go back again."
"This place needs maintenance: We heard every step in the room above us. We couldn’t use the rollaway bed because it was extremely uncomfortable, and the air conditioning was noisy like a truck. In addition, we experienced a hostile treatment from the front desk and will never come back again. Stay away!"
"This was once a grand hotel. It has the whole "Rat Pack" vibe. Honestly, old doesn't bother me, but the carpet was very dingy and rippled which seems like a safety/tripping hazard for some.
The room was well-appointed. The tile work in the bathroom was in good condition and seemed above average. It just could use a little sprucing up. But it was also very value priced, which was a plus for us as we were traveling each day to the Gorge.
The "breakfast" was kind of disappointing. I was also confused as to whether it was included. Staff asked me. So that was confusing.
All in all, reasonable stay. I wish it could be what it obviously once was."
