Compact but well laid out rooms. Around half the rooms are facing the main road (with a small park in between) so there may be some noise when vehicles pass but it’s still manageable. Love that the parking is right in front of the property, and there are some restaurants nearby.

This was a lovely hotel, in a very nice, quaint area with very friendly staff, however, it was nowhere near as close to other lakeside towns (such as Hallstatt) as was claimed on the website. Aside from this I would recommend!

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean, and we appreciated the variety of food offered at the complimentary breakfast. The staff were friendly and accommodating — as we needed to check out early on the last day, we asked if we could have breakfast on the check-in day instead, and they were happy to arrange this for us. The hotel has a hostel-style setup, with shared facilities such as a fridge, kettle, and can opener. Reception closes at 3:00pm. The location is convenient as it is close to Steeg-Gosau train station, making it easy for travellers heading to Hallstatt by train (Steeg-Gosau is just one stop from Hallstatt), and the cost is much cheaper than the accommodations in Hallstatt. We really recommend it to anyone who would like to visit Hallstatt!

Excellent for solo backpackers

off peak season, so grateful for letting me check in at 8am. Great value for the price, room is spacious for solo backpackers, nice mountain view Toilet is clean, bed sheets and blanket are clean but a bit old Breakfast is fine for early birds, Super convenient with both train station and bus stops around, had a really nice time.

Property is located in a very quiet area from one rail stop away from famous Hallstatt. it is little bit old, but they are working with renovation so it can be much better very soon on May24. There are not many places to eat outside and no shop, but there is bakery nearby and offers great choice of pastries. Very beautiful and scenery area, about 1,5km walk to the lake.

An economic choice to visit Hallstatt, Bad Ischl, etc. using train . Breakfast was good. Helpful staff. Not many dining options. Somewhat isolated from main towns. No air conditioning, but fairly comfortable in hot weather.. Sometimes noisy gatherings at bar below front rooms.

Property was undergoing renovation, therefore its was messy, a bit more of country living. Beds were hard and pillows were too flat. We could use a few more pillows. The staff were nice, but they’re not around after 6pm. So if you need anything you need to ask before that. The cafe next to the accommodation is really good. And the breakfast was awesome. So my reviews are mixed..

We had a pleasant stay at Metzgerwirt VIEH HELI. The hotel is located in a beautiful area next to the mountains and Hallstätter See, offering great views and a peaceful atmosphere. There are also a few affordable bistros and restaurants nearby, and Bad Ischl is only about a 20-minute drive away with plenty of dining options in town. The rooms were clean, neat, and comfortable. One thing that could make the stay even better would be having a kettle and some refreshments in the room. Parking space is conveniently available outside the hotel, which was very helpful. The breakfast was decent and covered the basics well. You cannot expect a huge variety of menu options, but for the price of the hotel, it was absolutely acceptable and did the job. Overall, it is a good value stay in a scenic location.

The business was closed during our reserved stay. A sign on door stating they were closed. I am trying to get my deposit returned to me but the business is claiming they were open. I took several pictures of the building and the sign that proves my statement to be true.
