Nice old hotel. Stairs to upper levels. Rooms are small. Could use some upgrades. It was available when almost nothing else was on a busy weekend.

Loved the cottage and the atmosphere! The only thing keeping from 5 stars was the bed. It was creaky and old. Was not very comfortable but overall very nice stay

I love the old school Catalina vibe of Hermosa Hotel! The bungalows are so quaint. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the location is perfect! I will be coming back and have recommended to friends.

It is one of the worst property that I ever stayed in United States, the size of the room and the rest room are very small, I would not recommend to stay, there are other hotels around it which are very good, I stayed here two days they did not even clean or change the towels and bed spreads

It would have been nice to have kitchen tools plates silverware anything… they have a single burner but no way to cook… no coffee pot and the coffee at the front desk was day old gross. Cute place nice atmosphere close to town.

The room did NOT look like the picture. The bed had BED BUGS. We could NOT sleep comfortably because of the itching. My fiancé and eye have little bug bites all over our bodies

Hi David, You must have stayed in a room with a small shower - please call us next time for an upgrade. Select rooms have newer or larger showers - it is all based on the room type.

We stayed in a Queen Cottage outside and down the street from the hotel. The room was small and bathroom even smaller but clean. The exterior of the building needed repairs. The best thing about this room was it’s convenience to shopping and restaurants in town.

No closet, no hangers, only one nightstand, no place for soap bar in the shower, the shower comes out with a trickle and is very hard to turn on. There is a hot plate, but no dishes, no pots or pans! The great lobby bar that was touted in their website was never open. The ice maker was broken.

The cottages are really old and run down and very small. There is a kitchenette but there are no dishes, utensils or even a coffee maker. It badly needs renovation.

Hermosa life
Hermosa has a very Europeon vibe. Room is small, shower/ bathroom Very small. On the way up the stairs to villa it was so beautiful and then the garbage can smell ruined it. It would have been a lovely sitting spot but the smell made that impossible. Customer service was bery helpful and nice. Overall it was a fine, location was perfect.

Been to Catalina island a couple times & this happens to be the best hotel my wife & I have stayed at. Highly recommend this place , everything is walking distance! Steps away from stores , bars & restaurants! The hotel rooms were very clean & have free coffee & a small bar in the lobby. They also have a free storage room in the back to put your luggage’s meanwhile you wait for check-in! My wife & I are really picky when it comes down too choosing hotels & we decided to give Hermosa hotel a chance & it didn’t disappoint at all! The general manager “David” was very helpful as well & customer service here is great. We will definitely be back 😎

Great Hotel! Great location! Walking distance to everything in Avalon! Bus stop right in front of hotel. They offer coffee and beach towels as well as beach toys/floaties. The staff was super kind. The only complaints i have are The property seems a bit old. Tiny showers with broken knobs and dingy shower walls. The rooms get super humid. I asked for the room to get cleaned as i stayed there 3 nights and my sheets were not changed.
