Wow, mabi rainforest type 5b right at your doorstep in an extinct volcano with lots of native fauna, only a 1 minute walk from your door, including hallorans Hill extraordinary look out, maybe leaving the room may have been a good option.

Thank you for your review. We are clearly advertised as a non hosted BnB and supply 24 hour key boxes for the convenience of our guests to be able check in when ever suits their travelling needs. Apartment 3 was a conference room and therefore boasts an open and spacious kitchen, dining and lounge area which is well capable of accommodating the 6 people it can sleep. There are chairs provided at the outside table which can be used wherever guests would like to use them. The apartment is also equipped with 2 large air conditioning units which would easily cool the entire apartment although, it is the middle of winter and temperatures are only ranging between 5C and 26C during this month. Thankyou for your feedback Margaret. You received a text message with directions and a key code to enter into the key dispenser, once you have this you can check in anytime. Directly next to the key dispenser is a floor plan to show you where your room is located, not sure why you missed this.

We’re sorry to hear that you had issues with the checkout time and with the presence of the owner’s onsite. Unfortunately, the checkout time is clearly advertised and we require guests to depart at that time to ensure rooms can be cleaned for check-in. With regard to the owner presence onsite, this was due to complaints we received from other paying guests regarding your behaviour whilst a guest at our establishment. We are more than happy to take your call should you decide you wish to discuss this matter further.

Thanks Anonymous, not sure that you realise that you stayed at a different property then this property which you have written the review for. You also booked for a months time but then realised your mistake as you wanted the room for the same night as the day you booked. Your room with King and bedside tables at the Retreat, was not available so at the last moment we had to find something else for you, it would have been nice to have a balanced review based on all of our service incl the fact that you stayed in a self contained apartment and not a B&B room with shared facilities, which is what you booked & paid for.

Thank you for the feedback, just changed to a key code system, very difficult through this site to let guests know. We need a valid email address to send to our guests on the morning of arrival. We can send through Expedia but most do not check their emails before arrival.

Sorry Anonymous, just renovated this room, now have photos, small but still has all the facilities that other rooms have access to, but much cheaper & with private bathroom.

Thanks for the feedback Fred, 2 built in robes we feel are appropriate and I suppose the huge entertainment areas are a plus which must be considered. Certainly much bigger as we explained than the room you actually booked.

Sorry you feel this way Don. We advertise the Retreat as private rooms with shared kitchen, lounge etc with 2 other bookings. You arrived & stayed, what is the "no show" about, we debited your card 100%, on the day you arrived. You have chairs outside your room on the deck with magnificent 180 deg views, maybe you should have opened the doors.The mattress has not collapsed. The TV's are average size and a huge TV in the lounge area. No dodging but we're renovating and adding to make our property better, come again and see for yourself. Builders were told not to start before 8am & no noisy work until 9am. Lots of good things to talk about Don. cheers john & helen
