Askot Cottage was amazing! We definitely wished we had stayed more than one night. Directions were clear, property was well illuminated, and entry was easy. I appreciated the fact that each cottage has its own EV charger and washer/dryer combo. We also had a great view of the northern lights during our stay!

Extremely easy check in, the cottage was clean and comfortable and well appointed, we had everything we needed. The futon was very comfortable and unwinding with coffee in the swing was perfection. Wish we would have stayed more nights. Added bonuses: their on-site shop was a life saver for snacks and drinks!!! And they have a place for recycling and trash which is kind of hard to come by. The horses are snuggly and wonderful, sunrise views and aurora views are epic. Best place we stayed in Iceland!!!

Beautiful, comfortable, contemporary cottage in a beautiful setting. Appreciated the laundry and other amenities. My only regret is that we were too tired to meet the owners and tour their horse farm.

A lovely cabin in a great location for exploring southeastern Iceland. The cabin is well appointed, and Greta was an excellent host. Highly recommended!

The best property, highly recommend!

We had the most amazing stay at Askót Cottages. The location of the property was perfect when exploring the south of Iceland and the Golden Circle by car. We were even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights 2 nights whilst at the property!

Exceptional experience! Perfectly designed cabins with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We have a 4 and 6 year old and they loved it. The owners took us to the barn and we got to pet the horses and see them exercising. Such kind and friendly hosts! I was one of the best places we have ever stayed and I hope we can go back again someday!

Askot Cottages are beyond phenomenal! Our best stay in Iceland. The cottage design is thoughtful and purposeful. Every little detail adds to the comfort and experience for the guest. The instructions are presented in a beautifully designed booklet that was clear and complete. All the amenities were stocked and high quality. I wish every place I stayed could be this perfect! Beautiful brand new 5 star cottages

What a wonderful place to stay, truly a luxury brand new cabin with all the mod cons of a 5 star suite. The hosts were lovely and welcoming I’d recommend anyone to stay here, you won’t be disappointed by the level of comfort.

The cottage was beautiful, very clean and had many amenities. We loved our stay and would have loved to stay longer. We enjoyed touring the horse barn and pasture with owner and meeting/petting a few horses and asking quesitons.

Had the best stay here! Amazing comfy bed and swing chair with your basic amenities and added touch of washing machine. The best morning view from the comfiest bed Lovely family ran farm that took us for a tour of the horses and area and let us some. Absolutely would recommend to anyone

If you're looking for a relaxing getaway with a beautiful view, comfortable bed and all the amenities you could possibly need, dont hesitate to book these cabins! I only wish we had spent more time to enjoy this location. The hosts were friendly and everything went flawlessly. Seeing the horses was a huge bonus!

I absolutely loved my stay here. I stayed two separate nights during my travels and these cottages are so well equipped for a home away from home. Everything you could want is provided, they really have thought of everything. The cottages were beautiful, clean, comfortable and the views were stunning! They have plugs for EV cars at each cottage too which is a bonus for people driving e cars. I got to meet one of the owners, she was lovely. I can’t recommend this place enough, it’s a must stay while travelling Iceland.

Peace & Harmony

Stayed 3 nights at this fantastic place, which is perfectly located for day-trips around the southern part of the island. Cosy cottages in as-new condition, fully furbished kitchenette was perfect for cooking meals, slept like babies in a large double-bed and twin sofa (very easy to unfold/fold). Very friendly couple running the cottages and the horse farm next to the cottages. Upon arrival we were invited to see the horses next morning, and we had a closeup experience with the horses, in and around the stable/paddocks, and watched them from our cottage. The owners shared ideas for trips (we went to the tomato farm - excellent) and were very hospitable. Our family could not be happier with our first 3 nights in Iceland, stunning place and hosts, if we ever get back to Iceland again we will come back to Askot, Greta, Steinar and the beautiful horses ❤️

Wonderful stay + free EV charging!

This is a special place. The cottages are very comfortable and have a beautiful view of Eyjafyallajökull and the Westman Islands in the distance. If you email or call they will give you a tour of their stables where they train horses and help injured horses regain their strength (including exercise in a swimming pool!). We met and chatted briefly with one of the owners, who was lovely. As a bonus, each cottage is equipped with a free EV charging station—the only place we stayed on our entire trip that offered this amenity. This is a vacation rental, not a full service hotel. There is no front desk or restaurant/bar, so I would come with supplies. (The town of Selfoss is about 30 minutes away, and there is a little hamlet nearby with some limited dining options, including a good food truck that serves fish and chips).

Amazing cottage

Definitely a place to consider if you want to stay for a few days. Amazing high end finishes with all you need for an amazing stay. Confortable bed and double sofa bed, full kitchen, big bathroom with comfy shower and even a Tesla charger included for the price of the night. And it has a small shop cottage with a trust honor system and a cash box. Would go back again for sure!
