"very comfortable room (view over car park!? not great) spa was beautiful, remember to take speedo type ( budgie smugglers!) trunks for men, as shorts not allowed. Can be bought on site for 15euros) Thanks for a lovely stay"

"Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel, everything is to a high standard, and the owners are very pleasant and helpful. Our room was tastefully decorated with a lovely balcony, The breakfast is very special too, with everything beautifully laid out in one of the nicest breakfast room I have ever been, windows open to a pristine blue sky…. yes I guess we were lucky, it won’t always be like that."

"The staff were very welcoming and very helpful. Our apartment was very comfortable and clean. Our balcony gave us a view of a lovely forest, st Jean de Luz and the sea. The pool was perfect for us. Plenty of seating around the pool. The grounds of Villa Maldagora were very pleasant and well maintained. We enjoyed using the table tennis and borrowing the board games. Being able to order bread and pastries each day was great as the nearest shop is 15 minutes walk away. A car would have been useful but the local us service stops just outside the complex and runs every 30 minutes into the town. We had a very restful and enjoyable week."

"Very clean. Comfy, queen-size bed with crisp white linen. Lovely, helpful staff, and an excellent location a couple of minutes' walk to the main beach, the town with bars and resaurants, and the train station across the road. But the hotel needs some TLC - the bathroom door didn't shut, the toilet rocked when sat on, there were flickering lights above the basin, and the floors were worn. The air con was powerful, but very noisy as it clicked on and off, so we had to turn it off in the middle of the night. But you get what you pay for - the price was very reasonable for the location. There is no parking, so bear in mind it costs €25 on top of the room price to stay in one of the underground car parks over night, which are very nearby. St Jean de Luz is a fun, friendly town, with safe bathing in the bay - definitely worth a visit!"
