I really enjoyed my two-day stay here. The room, public areas, and surrounding area were all clean. The breakfast buffet was yummy and dinner at the restaurant on site was excellent. There are also some lovely walking trails nearby.

This hotel also has a restaurant. The rooms are spacious and in excellent condition. Parking and a delicious breakfast buffet are included. Additionally, the walk to downtown Ansbach is roughly 15 minutes. I will be staying here again.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the family atmosphere! Nice to have a washer and dryer, too. The hotel was spotless and the food was amazing! The apfelstrudel was the best we had in Germany! Thank you, Christian, and staff.

Will definitely stay here again.
Lovely hotel set slightly out of the bustle of town. Convenient to walking/ running trail. Very good breakfast. Safe walk to old town about 1 1/2 miles also bus stop right in front of town.

Beautiful hotel between Nuremberg and Rothenburg
We were on our way from Nuremberg to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, and stopped here for the night....and we were VERY glad we did. This unassuming hotel on the outside is delightful on the inside. Most of the hotel is very newly renovated, and the quality of the hotel was superb. The staff was very nice, the room was very cheap for what we got, and the breakfast was very good. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone passing through.

Really enjoyed our stay. Worth a visit just for the Messerschmitt Kabinenroller on display in the lobby Didn't try the restaurant but the breakfast was great. Only real problem was the elevator didn't go all the way to the 4th floor

"A united family is strength" Definitely when it comes to the family means trust and security, this traditional boutique hotel in the town of Ansbach, Germany Managed by a whole family is the most comfortable, excellent service, very welcoming rooms , affordable prices, also has a restsurante of traditional German food of the most delicious managed by the professional chef of the family. This small city where one of the oldest universities in the country is located has more than five thousand international students, Also has a perfect location, only 40 minutes by train to Nuremberg, which is a very developed and progressive city and where you can find an international airport, also Munich at 1:30 min by the highway (Autobahn) the fastest in the world, you can visit the oldest city in Germany that is Rothenburg, in short I can recommend 100% "Hotel Gasthof Windmühle" if this looking for a quiet and relaxed vacation

The greatest hotel we have ever stayed in!!!!!
Amazing time, wonderful service, unbelievable staff. Super clean! The staff was very accommodating. Everything worked, nothing was broken. The fitness center had clean working equipment. Which is unlike most hotels I have stayed in. When we needed extra towels no problem. When we had questions they were very polite and patient with us. It was a family like atmosphere. They have a great restaurant with authentic German cooking. Large proportions, low prices and everything we ate was to die for. The bathrooms we clean enough to eat off the floors. There was a German style contental breakfast every morning. Fresh bread, fresh fruit, assortment of cheeses, lunch meats, veggies. The coffee was great. There were eggs pastries and such. The hotel smelled nice and had a nice look. It was located close to Ansbach, actually in walking distance. We are making reservations to go back in March and can't wait. This hotel is one of those great kept secrets. It's family run business and they take pride in all they do. We loved it! And we plan on going back every year.

Clean Little Guesthouse
Stayed here for two weeks in February/March. Spotlessly clean. Book the "comfort double" if possible -- I saw the "regular" double and the comfort double was much larger, with a separate seating area, and for my dates it was the same price. Breakfast was plentiful, although of course after a couple of weeks, it was a bit repetitive. Each room has a small fridge, definitely not the norm for a European hotel. And there's a small common room with a washer/dryer, microwave and iron. One downside was rooms near the elevator could be a bit loud at times. I'm guessing the same for rooms over the restaurant, which seems to be very popular with locals. There was also a tiny fitness facility and a sauna. Overall a great little place with friendly staff.

Excellent rating from staff to cleanliness to comfort. The food is also as good as it gets and no need to travel and look for a place to eat. Good breakfast, good internet, plenty of parking and quiet area. Business rooms are new and modern. If they had only put a ceiling/desk fan in the rooms for the summer time, this place could not be beat. . .except by AC. Second trip to this hotel within the last eight months. Will go back again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Windmuhle. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quite. It was a good location to visit Ansbach and the surrounding area. Great breakfast. It was a good value.

We needed a place to stay in between Rotenberg and Nuremburg and we were pleasantly surprise by this hotel. There was cheaper alternative but for a $25 we decided to go with the much better looking place and a very good German breakfast buffet. No regrets. We definitely recommend it.

While close to ansbach and Katterbach, I would strongly suggest foregoing a stay in this place. Dogs, which are kept on property, barked at all times of day and night, and the staff was rude on several occasions. Breakfast, while offered, is meager and the woman on staff gave the impression that asking for more than a single serving of coffee is a crime against humanity. Unless there are no options, I would skip this place. The quality doesn't justify the cost.

Cleanest Most Comfortable Hotel I have ever stayed
When I arrived I was overwhelmed at how clean the hotel was from lobby to room to gasthaus.I stayed there for eight nights and on one occasion around 9:00 PM I was eating in the gasthaus and I could see straight into the kitchen with its clean white walls and a lady was standing on a ladder cleaing the insides of the light fixtures and ceiling. In the dining area there is top to bottom woodwork and there was not a spec of dust on any of it or on the knicknacks displayed all over. The cleanliness of the place was a reflection on the quality and taste of the food as well which was top notch! The family who runs this hotel have had it in operation for over 100 years and the pride in everything they own and do shows.

Ich hab mich nicht wohl gefühlt, abgefertigt beim Check In. Hatte eine Gulaschsuppe,war nur Hackfleisch drin,aber der Koch macht es seit 30 Jahren so...,ne Suppe vom Automaten,ist zwar ohne Hack ,aber sonst kein Unterschied!!! Ich , würde da nicht mehr buchen,und ich bin ständig in Hotels.

Alles was in orde, de netheid en staat van de kamers was prima. Ontbijtbuffet was lekker en ruim voldoende qua diversiteit. Parkeren bij het hotel was prima en er was genoeg plek. Het enige wat ik miste was een airco op de kamer. Voor de rest was alles prima 👍
