"Lovely! A quiet jewel just 10 minutes outside the Santa Teresa's main district. Great adults-only resort, terrific restaurant, lovely beach, great rooms, wonderful massage. The resort, rooms, beach club, beach, staff and experience are all top notch. Can't overstate how excellent the restaurant is, whether breakfast lunch or dinner. The pool may be the only slight knock - it's lovely and unique, but small and accessible to only a few villas. But we didn't actually care. The beach club, beach, Santa Teresa, and neighboring Montezuma were all charming enough to make this a great experience. You'll want / need a car if you stay here. Relying on open ATV would be bad - you'd be covered in dust from the 10-15 minutes of dirt road between Blue Mist and Santa Teresa. We rented a 4wd Bronco from Liberia, which made the 4 hour drive in regular mode and last 15 minutes of gravel rough road in 4wd no problem. Nearby: Nami (best sushi in town / 5 min from Blue Mist), Katana (best restaurant in town), Pronto (best italian in town), Umi (best night beachfront bar experience), Tipsy (best wine shop) Tour: From Blue Mist we booked a Montezuma Falls guided hiking trek with Grasshopper Tours. Make sure to get Ernesto - a truly lovely local who literally grew up hiking and playing in the falls before it was a tourist destination. A great guy! We booked a Zumi tour to Tortuga Island from Montezuma village. Tour good, snorkeling fine, Island was boring, but we loved the town of Montezuma!"

"Parking was easy and secure. Staff was friendly and helpful. I felt at home here. The restaurant was good. The property has small maintenance issues, like not all lights in rooms work, or some curtains are difficult to pull. But this is minor. I highly recommend these accommodations. "

"This is definitely a resort that caters to an older and less active clientele. Other than the pool there are no "activities" to speak of on the resort, other than tennis courts that are a 1/4 - 1/2 mile walk away from the main area. They were also short on pool chairs, so if you don't get there early you might not get one. The food was "good", but the options are very limited. Only 3 Lunch/Dinner restaurants and 1 Breakfast buffet. If you want food during the day you'll have to get it from the Pool Bar or flag someone down at the Main Bar. As for the bars, they don't open until 12pm and EVERYTHING shuts down promptly at 10pm. If you're looking for anything to do after that it had better be in town. The rooms were nice, but the water in the shower/tub/sink never got HOT and the room never really got cool enough to sleep comfortably. Overall, it was a very pretty resort, if not a little overpriced, and definitely for people at a slower pace."

"This was the best hotel we stayed at in all of Costa Rica! Absolutely gorgeous property, beautiful pool, clean rooms, the most comfortable beds, and wonderful made to order breakfast. Geraldine, the breakfast waitress is a delight! She's so funny and personable despite the language barrier. We traveled with our 3 year old and we were delighted to find toys and children's books in the lovely sitting area. Such a big help for parents! I'm so happy we stayed here!"

"We had a wonderful stay at the Residensias Samara. We were at the beachfront location and our room was overlooking the ocean. The property is brand new and it was immaculate. Our room had a kitchenette and we were able to make our own breakfast and lunch and enjoy it on our balcony while watching the action on the beach. The property is right in the middle of town so we easily walked to the grocery store and to all the great local eateries for dinner. The hotel provided beach loungers and umbrellas for our use on the beach. It was very quiet at night and we slept well in the comfortable bed. I would highly recommend staying there and I would happily stay there again myself."
