"Lovely historic property- complete with all the quirks such as uneven floors, log burner, and a lovely wooden staircase. Great location to get into town too, and really quiet and peaceful at night. I had a lovely break here with my partner, felt like a proper escape."

"We had an excellent stay with an amazing view of lake Windermere. Our two boys had good reviews of the apartment which is unusual. The apartment was very well kept and very comfortable ♥️"

"Really lovely cottage in the middle of Ambleside.
Parking is off-site about 5 minutes away from the property up a very steep hill which wasn’t made explicitly clear so bare that in mind. There is nowhere to quickly park your car to unload bags or collect the resident’s parking permit so you have to pay for parking first.
The showers were nice but honestly quite dirty with lots of black marks (possibly mould) on the shower head and the silicone which put us off using one of them. Besides that...

"The cottage is well equipped for self-catering for a family of 4. The beds are very comfortable and there is plenty of space in the living / dining areas.
Quiet and with easy access to the heart of Ambleside, it is in a great location."

"The check in information did not arrive in time and it took 15 min to call and sort things out. Otherwise, there is no complaint on the property. Street parking with permit, it sometimes needs luck to find a nearby parking space."

"The the property and gardens, of course are phenomenal. This is an older. estate property so some issues can be expected with the conditions of the finishes. Unfortunately, with us being seniors, it was very difficult for us to get our luggage to the third floor by stairs. The size of the rooms are also quite small but clean. Furniture in the room was appropriate for the period and comfortable. The staff was very helpful in trying to resolve outside issues such as Parking in town which is not their responsibility. So that was very much appreciated. Breakfast was very good. We also had dinner there from a selected menu and it was good. This property had no TVs in the rooms. Wi-Fi was good."
"A best place to stay. Perfect location with parking.
The staff was really friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy.
Loved staying here. And will be booking again whenever visiting nearby areas."
"The hotel is lovely, well situated and very clean.
Staff were few but very pleasant
Spa was ok, but pool not very big
Food was high quality and well presented
Booked on line for restaurant, but no record of bookings when we checked in.
All in all 7out of 10"
"An amazing hotel. Gary gave the smoothest check in ever. Amy in Stove was incredibly hospitable and was one of the reasons our stay was so good. The spa was fantastic."
