Instead of apologizing she started to raise her volume to explain why she left, despite us specifically mentioning the time of arrival. We called the owner to complain and she didn’t seem to care. We had very low speed internet signal in the studio, with WiFi frequently disconnecting; we got anywhere from 1 to 11 mbps, due to a low power WiFi extender. "The best thing about this hotel is undoubtedly the staff, especially Eric and the two lads in the restaurant. They take what is already a decent hotel and make it an amazing one. Unfortunately, the airline lost our luggage, but Eric immediately stepped in and helped us. He personally came out with us to help us find everything we needed, expecting absolutely nothing in return. Five days later, when our luggage finally arrived, he went above and beyond once again by accompanying us to retrieve it, making sure we got everything back and offering to translate whenever needed. He really is a top bloke, and the hotel is incredibly lucky to have someone so genuinely helpful, attentive and caring. The two lads in the restaurant are equally brilliant. They always greet you with a smile, and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Their attitude really makes a difference to the overall experience. Breakfast is simple but very nice, and the egg station is particularly good, especially the scrambled eggs. The rooms, gardens and overall cleanliness are all excellent. The pool was okay, although the water became a little murky during our stay. However, the team acted quickly and got straight on with sorting it out, which was another example of how attentive the staff are. Finally, the location is fantastic. The beach is right next to the hotel, so it feels practically beachfront, and the sunset views are beautiful. Would definitely recommend!"

"We stayed at Ravintsara Wellness Hotel for five nights on a half-board basis and had a wonderful and very relaxing stay. The dinners were excellent throughout, with beautifully prepared food and a good selection. A special thank you to the restaurant team for taking such good care of my husband's dietary requirements. They were extremely accommodating and made sure his needs were catered for every evening. The spa was definitely one of the highlights. The treatments were excellent and the prices were surprisingly reasonable - considerably less than we normally find in hotel spas. Dina gave me an amazing facial, and the massages with Tendra and Patina were extremely professional, deep and incredibly relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa and would highly recommend it. Our bungalow had a beautiful view of the sea. Nosy Be has an extreme difference between low and high tide, but we found the view beautiful at both times and really enjoyed sitting and looking out over the water. The only negatives were a couple of unusual extra charges. We were surprised to be told that there would be an additional charge if we wanted to use the Jacuzzi bath in our own room, and there was also a charge to have an iron. For a hotel of this standard, we felt that both of these should really be included in the room rate. These were relatively small issues, however, and did not detract from what was otherwise a lovely five-night stay. Excellent food, a fantastic and reasonably priced spa."

"This place really is paradise. Me and my girlfriend spent 9 nights here and had a fantastic time. The bungalows are spacious with your own sun beds overlooking the sea which is no more than 10/20 meters away. Food is very good and the portions are very generous. We did some excursions organised by the hotel and again everything ran perfect and was very enjoyable. The Tuk Tuk drivers and the taxi drivers they use are also very helpful and we felt perfectly safe and happy when we used them. The staff are all very friendly. It’s such a quiet and secluded place, the perfect place to relax and unwind. It also has the most beautiful sunsets every evening we watched them go down and felt very lucky to be in such a beautiful place. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the island."

"I loved my visit to Villa les Orchidées. The hotel was amazing and the staff were more than helpful. My three complaints are very, very minor and would not effect a decision to stay there again, however people should know what they are getting: 1) There is no hot-tub, only a pool. 2) There is no real coffee, only instant garbage. 3) The hotel soundtrack is nauseating. I have a feeling the owner, whom you will more than likely meet, likes it, but its just awful."

"Manga Soa is as close to paradise on Earth as you will find! It is a friendly, French-managed small lodge set in the most exhuberant tropical gardens imaginable! Every tropical flower & plant are found here. The managers, Roman & Ocean, are a competent, friendly can-do couple who can handle any request. Their staff is impeccably trained, yet friendly & personable. We loved the French-inspired food! With tasty tropical touches, every meal was a delight! The chef's brioche rolls were scrumptious! This is the perfect paradise! Each oversized bungalow is masterfully made from local hardwoods with true island touches. We loved the huge bed with crisp, cool linens. Lying in bed looking out over the Indian ocean is true luxury! The beach is beautiful but not always swimmable with the low tide. Ask Roman to arrange for their boat to take you to a reef or one of the nearby islands! Don't miss having a massage or 2! Prices are so reasonable & the ladies are very knowledgeable! We loved everything about our stay here and were treated like VIPs! It is a shining gem on Nosy Be. The road is now paved & it's a smooth & easy trip to the airport or Helleville."
