"We really enjoyed our stay in the lagoon paradise resort and even decided to stay one day longer than initially planned. You can enjoy the breakfast (as well as dinner) in the nice beach restaurant with a great view. We booked a cabana which was located near the swimming pool. We would definitely recommend the hotel to anybody who visits Tangalle! Special thanks also to the staff (especially Weerasena & Thisara) who were more than welcoming."

It was lovely to be able to sit out on a balcony and read. The manager arranged a great safari to Bandula National Park and provided us with a very tasty breakfast to take with us. "What can I say about the best 4 nights/ 5 day stay at the stunning Uga Prāva? Impeccable, luxurious, relaxed, elegant, extremely friendly staff (Prem is one wonderful butler), delicious food. The attention to detail is on- point, everything from the seamlessly understated decor, to the gorgeous infinity pool, gardens, view out over the Indian Ocean, quiet, seriously comfortable suites, .. I could go on and on. If I could rate it, we would give Uga Prāva 7 out of 5 stars 🌟 We will be returning!"

"Hotel felt dated and neglected. The breakfast was cold and inedible, so we ate out each morning. However, we felt it would have been pointless telling the staff as they seemed uninterested and like they had their spirit broken. The room was dirty and sheet were stained, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It needs shutdown and given a deep deep deep clean then remodelled. I suspect the owner or manager need to try and build up their staffs morale as the staff were so unhappy it felt awkward. "

"Every member of staff that we met from arrival to departure was fantastic. Very polite, courteous & extremely helpful. Catered for all our needs. We booked this place last minute due to having to change our original plan (Kandy & Ella) because of the recent Cyclone. Although Lagoon Gate can appear a little isolated it is an absolute gem as you are in and amongst nature & right on the Lagoons edge. It is so easy to get out & about, the staff will order Tuk Tuks or Taxis for you or if you feel adventurous you have free use of bikes which we made full use of. Also, the hotel provides use of Kayaks to use on the Lagoon. The rooms are spacious & very clean overlooking Rekawa Lagoon. We had evening meals in the hotel on several occasions & I have to say, the authentic Sri Lankan Curry was outstanding! Breakfast is delightful with a good choice & freshly made. Would definitely recommend this place. Arrived as guests, left as friends!"

"Fabulous place!! The people here are so helpful and friendly! Well, it is Sri Lanka after all!! What a gem this hotel is, the spa treatments are fab and even though we didn't pay for meals to be included we have eaten most of our meals here, lovely!! Would definitely stay again. rooms are clean and spacious and the staff will supply you with anything you should need. Fab!!!"
