Heritage history

My grandson and I came there to see where his great grandson parents were from. It is a beautiful landscape. People were very friendly. The hotel was wonderful. A lot of history in the town.

We enjoyed our stay at the Stadshotell. The room was great overall, although it could use more counter space in the bathroom. Frukost was great, although you need to learn to make CRISPY bacon, not lumps of fat. Restaurant menu was outstanding. You need a photo of Amal's most famous singer in the hallway: GUNNEL EKLUND, instead of all the blues singers who have no genuine connection to the city.

Lovely area to explore

Amal is a good location for exploring the lakes. There a couple of ok places to eat out, but not as many as I'd have liked. Definitely a base rather than a location. Hotel is in an older building and decorated sympathetically. Our room had plenty of space, but no tea or coffee making facilities.

Historical and stylish hotel

Beautiful historical building, which have not been destroyed by unlucky renovations, as many similar places have. The rooms also are very stylish and in keeping with the period. Front office and breakfast staff could maybe have been interacted a bit more. A simple good evening or good morning can go a long way. The room was flooded with sun from very early morning, as the blackout curtain only covered two thirds of the window. But still all in all this is a great and majestic hotel, and we'd be happy to return any time.

Trevligt men dyrt!

Fin miljö o trevlig personal. Fick rum ut mot vägen vilket var mycket störande hela dygnet. Rummet va dålig planerat så man fick slåss med toadörren när man skulle in o ut från toa. Duschen blötte ner hela badrummet och det va fuktigt o obehagligt hela dagen på toan efter en dusch. Restaurangen på kvällen hade fantastisk mat men också ett otroligt överreklamerat pris. Det fanns inga priser på drycken som kunde väljas utan det kändes som om man tog betalt efter känsla. Väldigt dryg kypare!

Övernattning i samband med en hockeycup. Enda minus var att frukosten inte serverades förrän kl 8. Ingen frukost innan första matchen men åkte tillbaka innan utcheckning för en senare frukost så allt gott! Hockeyspelaren bodde på annat håll och fick frukost innan match.
