Top Alston Hotel Reviews

County Hotel

County Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Like: location, value for money, nice room, comfy bed, efficient check in, decent shower. Dislike: very minor - takes a wee while for the hot water to get up to temperature. However, this was first floor in a very old building. (Just really a pointer for other travellers to be patient)."

The George Hotel

The George Hotel

8/10 Good
"Very pleasant period hotel in a lovely location, ideally situated for exploring sites along Hadrian's Wall by car. For me, the only real downside was the coffee machine at breakfast had a limited range of choices (no americano!) and it 'gave up the ghost' completely on our last day without a replacement being available."

Westmorland Hotel Tebay

Westmorland Hotel Tebay

8/10 Good
"A solid stay at this lovely hotel, which was our halfway point home after a trip to Scotland. The food quality was really good, very enjoyable, and the room was great - the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, it was so comfortable. The only reason I haven't given it five stars is that there was room for improvement, although it was a very healthy standard and we would stay again. Our reception welcome couldn't be faulted, the staff were great. However, we waited in the lounge for our dining spot, and although there were staff seemingly not over-busy, there were plates left from other guests untouched in this area which meant it wasn't that pleasant a spot to wait. Communication at breakfast could have been better, although the breakfast was good, and we only had to ask really, but would have liked to have been told if we could have yoghurt/fruit etc from the table. The food, both at evening and breakfast sittings, was very good and worth the price, but the drinks were eyewateringly pricey! Don't let this put you off, it's a lovely place to stay and we enjoyed it. Under the management of the group managing the lovely services, we know they'll sort these very minor issues out as it was clear from the management and systems in place that they are aiming for excellence. We have every confidence they'll achieve it."

Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

Slaley Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort

8/10 Good
"Slaley is a grand hotel, outdated in parts, but don't let this put you off. Check in was quick, room spacious and clean. Nice view over looking the driveway. Bars were good and not to expensive. Breakfast was ok,food was fine, but kept running bout. lots of guests and the coffee machines kept running out aswell. Leisure facilities were good, could do with more loungers, but its finding places to put them. Overall had a good might away. Would stay again"
