"I was a little concerned by the previous reviews on this property, but we found it to be a great value for our money. Check-in was easy, just need to pull your car in front of the parking garage. Once checked in, they will give you a pass. Parking was completely secure. Area around the hotel was safe. It is a Latino community and could be intimidating for some. We loved the music and people as everyone was more friendly than most areas of New York. The subway is within sight of the hotel, and a second subway station is 2 blocks beyond. The area was lit well enough. They also have security in the evening at the door. No one can come in without passing the front desk. Our room was clean, and we give the bathroom shower a huge shout-out! There was plenty of hot water and it is big! The sink could use more counterspace. We liked the fact that they cleaned our room every day and made the bed. Breakfast was made in front of you. It was a limited selection, but all the essentials--real eggs, fruit, bacon/sausage, etc., and there are bagels and drinks available all day. Most of the staff was bi-lingual--Spanish/English. I wish that the staff could be more easily identified. They need blue polos and nametags. Sometimes you could not tell who worked for the hotel and who was hanging out. Getting to and from the subway was easy and the subway route is easy for traveling all over the city. I don't think its an accessible station. I would book Highbridge Hotel again. "
