What I like: excellent breakfast (probably one of the best in my years of travel), cleanliness, welcoming staff at the reception, central location (very close to the Byrampen Viewpoint and the bridge) Paid parking in the same building as the hotel (pay at the automat machine inside the parking lot, NOK 250 per 24 hours) Things that could be better: NOT black out curtain

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean, breakfast was great, restaurant for dinner was about a 8/10 and the ambiance was calming and tastefully done. House keeping missed a few things and was very late one day (they were still in our room at 5pm when we returned to get ready for dinner). All lightning in the room is automated to two switches and cumbersome to use.

Weird Decor Strange Rennovations
Strange hotel. Wanted to like it but felt like it was under renovation still. The quality of the renovation was also a little sketchy. The light fixture was broken in the room and the shower flooded the entire bathroom. Felt like quite strange decor a mix of new and old not really what you see on the website. The bar / breakfast area is stunning and much more in keeping with what I thought the rest of the hotel would be like. Nevertheless nothing was really wrong with our stay we just got a bit weirded out by the decor and renovation

Special thanks to Louisa at reception for being so empathetic and accommodating! We loved the hotel and definitely recommend. Nicely located near all the attractions and easy walk around the neighborhood to see the main points of interest in town. Close to the steps to the top of the mountain. Dinner also excellent, try the tempura schrimp as a strater, and the fish soup. Excellent menu. Very cozy and stylish ho, minimalist style and everything is very tasteful.

Great hotel. Rooms felt very minimalist, which was good - but could have done with some more information on the facilities at the hotel in the room. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel 1904!! The staff was friendly and so very helpful, especially after we were given a room with two twins instead of a queen. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with beautiful clean rooms and a lovely dining area for the breakfast buffet. We loved the area around the hotel - very walkable and close to many city highlights. All around, one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in! We hope to be back one day!

We wanted to like this hotel so much but it just wasn’t it for us. Pros: Bed was comfortable, hotel itself is beautifully decorated. All the staff are friendly. Green garden is the restaurant located inside the hotel, food was very good. Cons: The design of the bathroom is basically nonfunctional. There was only a sink with no place to put toiletry. A shelf would be useful. Also, the shower is only half covered by a glass door which is fine in some cases. The water pressure is good here so water is shooting out, making the floor very wet after a shower. Overall, the design and functionality of the bathroom could be significantly improved

It's all about the staff. Each was as friendly and helpful as the next. The includef breakfasts were to die for. They have truely spoiled me for future hotel stays elsewhere.

Hotel 1904 is a unique place to stay. The property is a wonderful mix of historic building and modern furnishings. I loved my room! It was spacious and comfortable and I especially liked the armchair by the window and the Nespresso machine and kettle. If you don't want to make your own coffee, the Green Garden restaurant/cafe has a lovely seating area, both indoor and out, where you can have a cake or a meal. I thought the breakfast buffet was one of the best during my two weeks in Norway.

We really enjoyed the property and the room was really pretty but when we started to settle in we realized that there was no storage in the room at all so our luggage needed to just sit on the floor and get pulled out on miscellaneous pieces of furniture etc. which was not ideal. Also the breakfast was a three out of five. The space inside the hotel is lovely I love what they created there.

Convenient nice hotel in the heart of Alesund. We stayed 2 nights on our 2 week trip around Southern Norway. Highly recommend the Green Garden restaurant in the hotel - not cheap but the food is excellent. Egon is a cheaper option right next door or there are plenty of other options within walking distance. We parked in the Aksla underground parking with is easy to drive into and you can surface either next to the hotel or directly in hotel.

Hotel 1904 was excellent! Our only regret was we did not stay longer:( The front desk associates were very qualified and offered recommendations for us to visit and see in the area. The breakfast was very good and having coffee and water throughout our stay was very much appreciated!

Outstanding in Alesund
Outstanding hotel in center of town. The design to details was obvious. Friendly service and quick checkin and checkout. Comfortable sitting area in room and housekeeping was exceptional. Breakfast had a variety of food and items were fresh and hot. The hotel restaurant provided a nice dining experience and included a range of seating options. Highly recommend a stay at this hotel.

This is a stunni g boutique hotel with light, clean and well sized rooms. The coffee bar/ restaurant was beautiful and the breakfast was absolutely fantastic

Pre-airport night in Alesund
We stayed for 1 night before flying back home. The people working the front desk were very friendly and even made us a breakfast to go for our early flight. The location is close to everything in Alesund. The hotel was very clean and quiet. Our room was comfortable and modestly sized. Plenty of parking garages close to the hotel.
