Our stay was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was very personable and treated us like family. The restaurant provided some of the best meals we experienced on the entire trip.

A very beautiful place to stay. The staff was incredibly attentive and nice. The Gatsby lounge was a great place to chill and grab a drink.

Beautiful palace! All is renovated except they left wood work, windows, ceilings as original to palace. Amenities are high end and staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. We order food at restaurant and had great hamburger. Definitely returning back.

Storyteller's Palace is incredibly lovely, the history of the house, the location across from the beach at Sao Martinho, Marco, Ni, Miguel and the wonderful staff which felt like family, the incredible dinner and breakfasts too~!! You will write your story of memories created when staying at Storytellers, home away from home.

We had a perfect stay here. The staff were absolutely charming and so helpful and friendly, anticipating needs and helping with queries/ bookings, even providing some masterful help with a tricky chess move! - we felt totally spoilt. Even the taxi firm they use has great drivers who give excellent tips on where to visit. The hotel itself is newly refurbished with great facilities and decor. You can see how much thought and care went into making it comfortable and stylish. Sao Martinho itself is a small family-friendly place for a quiet break, much needed after the crowds of Lisbon and Sintra. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, and right opposite the beach, so you are treated to wonderful sunsets while having drinks on the terrace. Although surrounded by restaurant options, I would suggest you eat in for at least some of your stay as the quality is excellent, as is the breakfast. Overall we had a fab holiday here and cannot recommend it highly enough. I only wish we had planned for this part of our trip to be longer. Itā€™s well worth walking the length of the bay to the huge sand dune at the end, and back over the boardwalks over the dunes. Nazare and the walled medieval village of Obidos are great day trips, only about 15 mins taxi ride away. Weā€™ll definitely be back. Thanks everyone for making it such a lovely holiday.

The Storyteller hotel is a unique property with individual decorated rooms with well-known authors' names. Our room was very compact, but was really well decorated and beautiful, and seemed freshly renovated. The hotel is literally facing the beach, and listening to the sound of waves was lovely while I sleep.

Room and service was excellent. Missing in the room is an Iron. Shower was awesome with 2 rain showers and 4 jets but it floodedall the way to bedroom.

Hi Paula, thank you for your review! We donā€™t have irons in the rooms for safety, but we have housekeeping service, and we have irons and ironing service.
