Is Alcaudete not at the top of your travel bucket list? That's hardly surprising! It's a little obscure, but still worth going to.

Alcaudete Vacation Packages

Alcaudete can be found about 200 miles south of Madrid, the nation's capital.

Grab a book and a picnic blanket and spend a little downtime by the ocean. Carabeo Beach, 60 miles to the south, and Torrecilla Beach, 60 miles to the south, are worth the journey.

Spend some time discovering the beauty of this region's natural attractions. Two close by locations are Sierras Subbeticas Natural Park (16 miles away) and Priego de Cordoba Tourist Office (11 miles away).

Step back in time with a visit to some of the historical landmarks, including Alcaudete Castle and Casa Consistorial.

Learn more about the spiritual aspects of the region with a visit to Santa Maria la Mayor Church.

Feel the exhilaration during game day at Lucena Bullring. It's in Lucena, 25 miles to the southwest of Alcaudete. Grab a drink after the game and reflect on the best moments.

Make the trip to Fuente-Tójar to go to Almedinilla Historical Museum and Almedinilla Roman Villa. It's roughly 6 miles from Alcaudete, and well worth the trip. Luque, another interesting place, is home to Mycological Truffle Garden and Zuheros Bat Cave. This destination is 8 miles away.

About 9 miles to the south of Alcaudete is Castil de Campos, a regional hub which is home to Church of Almedinilla, Priego de Cordoba Church of La Asuncion and Priego de Cordoba History Museum. Should you have the time, also drop in at Church of La Asuncion and Priego de Cordoba Castle.

The food here has its own special flavors, so be sure to get your fill!

Immerse yourself in the colorful culinary landscape and try some custard apple and ham. These two ingredients are found seemingly everywhere in the region.

Flamenquín (fried bacon wrapped pork loin) and ajoblanco (bread, almond and garlic soup) are just two much-loved menu items with their own unique flavors.

Divine desserts, such as alfajor (flour and hazelnut sweet), are certainly worth trying.

The soul of a region is to be found not just within its landscape, but also in the rhythms of its native tongue. Memorizing a smattering of day-to-day words and expressions in Spanish will make your visit much more meaningful. ¡Buena suerte! is Spanish for good luck. ¿Querría bailar conmigo? (would you like to dance?) is also helpful.

Enjoy the spirit of national pride on the 12th of October for National Day.

It's a sad fact of life, but all vacations eventually come to an end. As the sun sets on your Alcaudete getaway, say "Hasta la vista", spend your final euros, and think back to all the wonderful times you've had.

If you're looking for the nearest airport, it is approximately 35 miles away.
