In historic downtown Albany, find the Thronateeska Heritage Center, a non-profit organization for science education and historic preservation. Enjoy its different sites: the History Museum, Wetherbee Planetarium and the Science Museum. Visit the renowned Theatre Albany, located in John A. Davis House, one of Albany's pre-Civil War landmark buildings. This is among the oldest and most highly regarded cultural organizations in Albany.

Visit the Flint RiverQuarium, which features a 175,000-gallon (660-cubic-meter) aquarium on the banks of the Flint River.
