We had a great stay at Tavares Inn. Debby has taken perfect care of us. A wonderful breakfast and even coffee and orange juice delivered to the room every morning. And great dogs keeping us company

The definition of Bed and Breakfast. This is a wonderful family home with a great vibe. They really make you feel at home. We stayed one night only but wish we stayed longer.

Spectacular lodging!!!
Tavares Inn is excellent! We loved the location,(very near White Sands National Park). Deb was a great hostess and breakfast was one of the best we ever had( we even got to go boxes to take our leftovers and the mighty delicious blueberry muffin)! The indoor pool was marvelous and refreshing! An amazing place to stay! Bed was very comfortable as well!

A great place with a family feel, which is what you would expect from an expertly run B&B by an experienced couple. Very friendly, great breakfast, pool table, drinks available by donation. Fruit and coffee delivered by the hostess, Debs, to your bedroom door in the morning. Friendly and happy rescued dogs greet you at the door. Rescued cats available for petting by cat lovers. A funny talking parrot on the veranda, goats in the yard. Toboggans available for free if you want to sled in the White Sands National Park (spoiler: sand is not as fast as packed snow). A short drive from a touristy strip with restaurants. Overall, a great place to experience rural New Mexico and its genuine hospitality. Highly recommended!

Super nice bed and breakfast
Enjoyed our stay at the bed and breakfast. The owners were very kind and spoiled us with a delicious breakfast and fresh fruit and tea delivered to our room. I wish we had more time to stay there as we would have enjoyed a swim. The pets were super friendly too.

What wasn't unique or to like about this property?! The hosts were friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the area. The property is lovely with plenty of animals to interact with. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the breakfast service was top notch!

The address was incorrect, the given phone number did not answer—the only such "hotel" in our 11-hotel roundtrip, 10 of which reserved with Expedia. Even the neighbors at the address given did not know anything about the place; we had to spend the night at another motel. It was very inconvenient communicating with our European cell phones and phone numbers, and at the top of all that, we have lost the money for one night not spent—what a bummer (or much worse)!

This has been the same address for this property for over 35 years. We did not receive a call and when it was getting dark around 6:00 PM, since we realized they were from Germany we called Expedia to see if they could contact the guests, we also gave Expedia my personal cell so that they could forward it to the guest they advised me that they were unable to contact the guest. We waited until 11:00 PM and they did not call or arrive. Expedia advised that they sent an email to the guest with no avail. We are extremely sorry that that happened but we were expecting them and made every effort to contact them. We are a Bed and Breakfast not a Hotel.

Bob and Debbie are the best host and hostess that I have encountered during travel. They are very friendly and helpful. The inn is in a quite area, yet very central to the town. The breakfast is very delicious, and the portion is huge, I feel like it lasts me for a whole day ! We will definitely come back again!

Awesome place and very awesome host. Beautiful location with the mountains in the backdrop and a beautiful home and grounds. The hosts are very friendly and made us fell like family. Our experience at Tavares Inn was memorable the owners were gracious and informative about the history of the Inn and sites to see while here. The Inn itself was very inviting including a indoor pool and gym. The breakfast was beyond delicious including fresh eggs from their chickens. The Parrott and cats and dogs added to the charm. Looking forward to returning each year when visiting White Sands National Park.

Hidden gem with great hospitality
Excellent accommodations and very personal service (this is far more a B&B than an Inn, at least as far as I think of each) -- fantastic breakfast, quiet location, very personable hosts and a clean and comfortable stay at a very reasonable price. Would definitely recommend for those visiting White Sands -- beats a chain hotel any day.

In-home B&B
This is an in-home B&B. A large home set up well for hosting guests in 3 spare rooms. Very clean. The hosts were lovely people and the breakfast was enormous and fresh. They have a menagerie of pets, so if your sensitive, this might not be the place for you. Also be aware that it’s off the beaten path, so if you arrive after dark, like we did, it’s hard to find. No sign.

The place is located at quite and peaceful area and itself is beautiful and well-maintained. Debs and Bob are wonderful hosts, providing the best comfort and relax. If you are pet lover, you will meet lovely ad friendly dogs, cats, parrot and more. Alamogordo is always our first place to visit and now we have the place where we want to stay with no doubt.

An oasis of relaxation!
A most wonderful stay at this beautiful and homey B&B. We considered it an oasis after two long driving days from Indiana. Debbie has thought of everything a weary traveler could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Pet friendly doesn’t begin to describe Debbie and Bob as they welcome guests with pets to join their large menagerie of rescued animals. My husband and I would not hesitate to recommend Tavares Inn to anyone.

Wonderful stay!
We couldn’t have chosen better as a place to spend two days with our little cat after two long driving days from Indiana. Debbie and Bob were so welcoming and love pets. Breakfast was delicious every day with eggs from Debbie’s ‘ladies’. We would highly recommend Tavares Inn to anyone.

This was the closest we have ever seen to a European B&B - very nice room, wonderful-friendly-open people, spectacular and hearty breakfast. It is also very close to White Sands and but 10 minutes away from the one really good restaurant. This is a hidden gem and not to be missed!

Had a very relaxing stay after a day at White Sands National Park. Debbie made us feel very welcome. It was nice to take a swim in the evening and look around at all the animals. Nice to be a bit out of town and be able to see the stars. Breakfast was delicious. Very friendly dogs.

My overnight stay was excellent. The location is a bit tricky, however, once there you feel at home. The owner could not have been more friendly and her breakfast was outstanding. They have a large property with dogs who are friendly.

Deb is an amazing, warm hearted, and social hostess with a true desire to provide guests with the best service one can offer. We were provided with room service at our requested time, that included delicious coffee, cold refreshing orange juice, and a scrumptious fruit parfait. Then at our requested time were made an amazing home-cooked breakfast which included our choice which was bacon, eggs, potatoes, English muffin, and assorted drinks to include more coffee. The indoor swimming pool was cleaned to perfection, warmed to a level that was relaxing and semi private. The open bar is a fully stocked and you pay the “honesty box” when done. The house is filled with treats, to include potato chips, beef jerky, and peanuts. You will never go hungry or thirsty in the house. It is an amazing bed-and-breakfast, one that I will return to when in the area. They have free ranging pets in and around the house. We had one dog that stayed with us the entire weekend, and he is already missed. There are friendly cats, dogs (3), and a parrot that crave attention and love. I can’t say enough how pleased and surprised at what this bed-and-breakfast provided. They’ve been in business 20 years, and it shows. Best place I’ve ever stayed.

This was the only B&B we stayed at during our 6 week Cross Country trip. The owner was so welcoming and provided many extras....such as an amazing breakfast. Lots of amenities such as heated, indoor pool, billiard table. Also, lots of snacks, drink selections and more. Our 1 night stay was very enjoyable.
