We loved our stay, beautiful property. The young man that checked us in was very helpful and professional. Our view was incredible and the room was very nice. The breakfast fresh and tasty. My 6'5" husband loved the shower.

We were made very welcome and enjoyed our single night here. The view from our room was stunning. Akureyri is a short drive away and has some lovely restaurants. Choice at breakfast was great!

Hotels.com address was not correct. The location is actually closer to the turn off than indicated. If you use Google maps it will give you the accurate information. The hotel was super clean and had an amazing view. The host was very friendly, and the breakfast was great.

Clean and Comfortable
Very clean and spacious room with all the needed amenities and a gorgeous view of the city across the water. Staff were friendly and unobtrusive, and the breakfast spread had some nice variety. Overall just had a very comfortable stay and will be back again next time I’m near the city!

Excellent Choice in Akureyi.
Really well kept and feels new. Well located. Good Breakfast. The bed was great as was the linen. I didn’t like the pillows. Wish the room had a tea kettle.

This property was in a great location just across the bridge from Akuryi. The breakfast was adequate, and the staff was nice. Everything was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

Hafdals Hotel was a beautiful, well maintained, clean, quiet location. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. The view was superb. Couldn’t ask for a better stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone heading to Akureyri and would come again.

Lovely hotel with stunning views
Lovely quiet hotel with a welcoming and helpful host. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable room with a great hot shower. The view across the fjord to Akureyri is stunning but beware driving at night or in bad weather as the road to the hotel is narrow, winding and unlit and as the hotel only serves breakfast you need to get into Akureyri for an evening meal.

This was my most favorite spot in all of Iceland and we stayed at some amazing places. Thor was so kind and the view was spectacular. I was so glad we chose to stay here. #INCREDIBLE

Hafdals is a great property outside of Akureyri. The hotel sits across the fjord from the main town and has great views of the city, the fjord, and the mountain ranges that surround it. The room was spacious and the wall-to-wall windows of the beautiful scenery was amazing.

We loved this property so much. I think this had the best views of the mountains, ocean, city, and farmland. It really is the best location and the rooms have giant picture windows. The shower was large. The breakfast was great. Even though the Northern Lights were not happening the night we were there, the view of downtown Akureyri lights at night reflecting in the ocean was delightful. We also saw airplanes taking off! We would definitely stay here again. I would personally love to buy land near this hotel and build a house and enjoy the view!

Favorite hotel stay
Loved this hotel. Very friendly helpful owner. Close to akyureri but out in country with beautiful views. Only place we saw northern lights in 2 week trip. Beautiful room with big sliding doors and great view!

Best hotel in ALL of Akureyri
I highly recommend this hotel. The view from every room is amazing. It’s located up on a hill overlooking the water and ‘city’ lights. The entire outside wall is all windows, enjoyed the view for hours. Room was super clean and plenty of space. But as great as the room was, the owner is the highlight. He was extremely helpful with getting us checked in, he was knowledgeable on interesting places nearby, and the breakfast he prepared each morning was fantastic. Only wish we could have stayed longer. Great location, great room with a view, and great hospitality. So glad we stayed here.

The gentleman who took care of us during our stay couldn’t have been any kinder. He told us about a nearby restaurant that I hadn’t read about, called to enquire about a fish dish, and made our reservation. It was delicious! When he learned we had to leave before breakfast hours, he had everything ready a half hour early so we could eat. It is a beautiful place, the rooms are excellent, peaceful and the view can’t be beat.

Loved this property! The location and the views were amazing! The property owner was so nice and welcoming. The property was rather new and very clean. Loved the freshly baked croissants served at breakfast. Would recommend this property to anyone.

Great location and fabulous stay
You can always tell when someone cares about what they do. This location is beautiful, clean, well cared for and has excellent service. The rooms are beautiful and the view is great. Things were very clean and well kept. The owner provided advice on what to see and do and where to eat, which was greatly appreciated. I recommend staying 2 nights as there is a lot to see and do in the area.

The owner runs an amazing hotel. Each room has a beautiful view over Akureyri, and if the weather had been on our side it would have been stunning! The breakfast was a feast!
