"Lofted 2 bdrm 2 bath was perfect for our group! The space was great for hanging out inside or outside on the deck. It was walking distant to great restaurants and bars. And a little farther walk got us to Campus and the areas around 9th st. We'd definitely return!"

The Durham Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great location, park at the deck across the street (free on weekends/$25 weekdays)- walk to tons of great restaurants downtown. Very cool boutique hotel details like fresh ground coffee dropped at your door in the mornings, and tray of local Durham-made snacks in the room for reasonable prices. Some biological looking stains on our sofa were offputting and our robes had some stains as well. Our carpet in the room had a big bleached out spot at the entrance. The cleaning isn’t impeccable- but I definitely felt the bed linens, towels, and shower/bathroom were clean. Bed was comfy, room was quiet. The desk staff brought up water and ice when we needed it, they were also very friendly and helped with making recommendations. We were celebrating an anniversary and the hotel sent up a kind gift for our special occasion. Would stay again. "
"Great spot to stay if you’re going to a show at the Carolina Theater or DPAC. Both of the night time bartenders were great. We also really enjoyed the DJ. "
"This hotel is unique with an art museum inside the hotel. As you walk down the halls, you enjoy paintings, sculptures as well as small exhibits. The room was comfortable and had everything you need for a nice stay. We loved the reusable water bottles waiting for us in the room. The restaurant, The Counting House, has a small dinner menu, but everything we had was delicious. This old bank building is charming and has some of the original features of the bank including the large vault in the basement. There was a sauna and a steam room, a small fitness room with enough free weights and exercise bands to get a decent workout. It was a hot summer weekend so I would have loved a pool, but other than that, everything was great!
We used the municipal garage down the block instead of the valet parking. There are nice coffee shops, restaurants and bakeries all within a few blocks of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for an evening at the Carolina Theater. "
"We had an amazing visit! Our apartment was beautifully equipped and was in an unbelievable location! Everything was walkable and the people in the area were incredibly friendly. We loved hanging out in our apartment and the common areas. We will definitely use Barsala again in other cities - they were phenomenal with our customer service and the place was a 10 out of 10!!!"
