Every single person there was friendly, helpful, and showed real pride and dedication to their jobs, the guests, and the hotel brand itself. I have never been so thoroughly impressed... the cleaning staff seems to be perpetually keeping the property immaculate, the lifeguard is vigilant and can pull like ten people out the water at once if needed, Rita's pool bar concoctions (try the Dark Apple) will hit every test bud, Crystal's quick wit and operatic singing voice between bringing the next recommendation off the menu and climbing flights of stairs to close your bill keeps you entertained, and Lena at the front desk navigating several guests requests to get everyone out the door on time and happy. **Big note...just coordinate ALL your reservations, rentals, excursions, etc through the hotel. They have the best and most reliable island contacts and go above and beyond to make sure everything is right** Thank you for being an amazing and unexpected addition to the enjoyment of my trip! "Second time staying at Volcano View Hotel in Santorini. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, they make the effort to learn your names, remember your coffee orders, ask you about how you’re enjoying your time, and make recommendations for how to enjoy the island as much as possible during your time there. The rooms are clean on arrival and throughout your stay. We stayed in a non-suite room and it was great. The breakfast buffet is good and appears to be quite fresh every day. It doesn’t change too much throughout the week but you can order other food on the menu if you’d prefer to switch it up. The views of the caldera from the hotel are amazing and the sunsets here are second to none. It is easy to navigate the island and the reception can help arrange everything essentially. Rides to Fira, Oia, or anywhere else, excursions such as Catamaran/private island tour, massage/spa, etc. My only minor criticism is the music by the main pool (yes, there is more than one pool), which is the same style of music being played over and over again, with some of the same songs playing twice or three times. If you have a pool day it can become repetitive. Could do with a genius shuffle playlist or something and work in some European music, no need for anything more involved than that. "Sunset views are amazing! Room was great very clean. Pool was beautiful. Wish our personal hot tub had been warmer. We cannot thank the staff enough for their hospitality. They brought us delicious breakfasts every morning. They even went out of their way to provide us a breakfast box when we had an early departure. They also had someone come to help us with our bags, which was above and beyond. Excellent customer service."

"A great resort, I would say it’s more of a 4 star and definitely focused on families. I believe it is too big to maintain a 5 star standard, as it missed the finesse that others show, more because of its struggles to cope with a large number of guests. The location is amazing, close to old town and all the bays. Swim up pool is good, the vent for the sewage was near ours, so you would get a whiff and I noticed some of the other swim up rooms didn’t even get the sun. I could have complained, but the hotel was that full, I couldn’t see what they would be able to do to fix this. The buffet was ok, nothing that stands out though, felt that the a la cartes were just the buffet plated up by someone else. The street food hub was ok but they always got the order wrong, so something to be aware of. A small thing, but how you judge a hotel quite quickly, no welcome drink and checking in felt more like a factory process. So if you are after a true 5 star experience, then maybe not, if you don’t like hearing kids, then maybe not but if you are after a high end 4 star in a great location and you have kids, then yes (if you get a good deal and not 5 star prices)."

"This is a lovely place to stay, easy to walk in town, super helpful and friendly staff, beautiful pool, magnificent breakfast offering—certainly fit for Poseidon! One couldn’t want more—well, the bathroom in room 14 was quite small, but I would definitely stay there again. Loved it!"
