"Our room was not ready at 3pm as promised, and the desk clerk, when she did check us in, kept trying to check us in as someone else. She felt bad and gave us a late checkout for 1pm on our exit day. We were taken back by the need to collect a $100 security deposit that would be refunded up to 14 days after our departure. There was a sign on the counter informing us that there was NO housekeeping and if we were in need of clean towels, we would need to bring our used towels to the front for exchanging! Sorry - but that is just a bit much for what we paid for the room. The room itself - a king suite - was roomy, The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious although the commode sits so low to the floor that you need to pull yourself up with the help of the sink counter. When we arrived, there was a dinging sound which the room cleaner didn't care to help us find the source. We finally realized that the refrigerator had been left open and was at 68*. The blackout curtains need replaced - the outside light came through like stars - interesting but not helpful. Breakfast was "tired" and the same every day - no variation. Bread was stale. Desk clerk was slow to refill items or to pay attention to anyone. You don't want to know about the roach on the shower curtain WHILE I was in the shower. On the last day, neither key worked and two trips to the desk finally let us back in. Seems they turned it off at 8am even though we had a late checkout. Would not return. "
"I did not think anything was unique. The bed slept really well and in general the room was clean.
This property was reported as a 2 1/2-3 star hotel which it absolutely wasn't. At best it would be a 2 star hotel. Shower head was not well affixed the wall. Reading lamp had a shortage. Microwave was difficult to operate. Tub was scratched and old. The location of the hotel was a bit sketchy. I would not stay here again."
"For a Kimpton I was disappointed. The hotel just seemed to be not sparking clean. In my room it took several days and a note from me to get robes that I assumed would be in the room upon arrival. When I left a note, the housecleaning brought 2 in and apologized.
The 1st day the housecleaning did not replenish my washcloths and left 1 wet one in the shower.
The staff at the front were very helpful and nice. Dinner was very good at Katherines."
"Just want to let everyone know I stayed at this hotel my husband and I memorial day weekend we came to check it out to find out if we wanted to bring our grandsons. Very nice hotel. Need some minor updates clean could improve on the breakfast and change up, not have the same thing every morning. Some of the staff was very friendly, polite and courteous and helpful. Then you had some of the staff that seemed to be racist and should not be sitting at the front desk. I just feel like if you’re at a desk greeting people you should always have a smile on your face. If not, then it is not the job for you. Other than that this was a great hotel had a very good time and plan to bring my grandsons back all six of them."
