"Saccharum hotel is a really special place. It is a small paradise that has an infinity pool with an ocean view, amazing gardens, indoor pool, great staff, and really restaurants with amazing views of the ocean. It is located very close to Calheta sandy beach. It is highly recommended if you would like to have a calm and picturesque stay in one of the most beautiful hotels in Madeira. I will definitely come back here again. "

" A very pretty Hotel in a lovely location looking out to sea. We would suggest its worth chosing a room with balcony or facing sea as our room, although a big room, was at the back and a little noisy."

"Calheta Beach Resort is a simple yet lovely beach property. Some reviews say ‘dated’, but I think that’s the charm of the place. Food was good, not great, but service was fantastic all across the board. Easy to get to and easy to take day trips to Porto Moniz and Funchal. I would recommend Calheta Beach. "

"Beautiful entrance and smooth check in to the hotel. We wanted to quickly get out to the pools to take a dip. We dropped our things off in our room and just loved the look of the room and the fact that they had towels available in the room to use for the pools. We had great evening in the lava pools, rooftop pool and heated pool on level -1. We felt extra special and welcomed with a bottle of their blue champagne that was dropped off in our room while we were out. We had lovely massages by Leticia in the morning after a delicious breakfast provided by the hotel. Exceptional stay, thank you for a wonderful time. Wish we could have stayed longer. "

"We stayed here for the first 3 nights of our stay in Madeira, lovely hotel with great views out to the Atlantic Ocean. Hotel is situated on the promenade of Ponta Da Sol and takes up about 2/3rds of it. It’s been built in a sympathetic style to fit in with the local area. Breakfast was included in our room rate and we found a good selection of hot and cold food. We never used the indoor pool but did you’d the interface on the 4th floor on a couple of occasions. Some nice places to eat just around the corner on ‘Bar Street’, the Beach Bar is also a nice place to hang about during the day and early evening. Best sunset on the island and you don’t even need to leave your room. Perfect base to explore the island."

"I loved the hammock on our porch! The rose garden was beautiful. Our porch had a view of the sea and the mountains. It was nice to have a separate sitting area and the weather was beautiful to enjoy sitting out on the porch."

"The worst experience of my life! The selected property didn’t let us in the room after a long day out because we had a guest friend and not only that, they blocked our room at 1 am and we couldn’t access the room or the pills I had to take urgently. Very rude front desk stuff told me that I should make my friend leave the property just because I invited for her for a glass of wine until her friend pick her up because she was staying somewhere else. I told the front desk that we are going to leave all of us and that I need my pills and he still wouldn’t let us in the room that I paid for. So I had to call the police to be able to access my room, this is unacceptable we came to visit Madeira for few days only and after a long day out at 1am I could not access my room, and had to call police to be able to get in. I told them I won’t stay at this property because of his rudeness and zero knowledge in customer service, and he would still not let me access my things and my medicine. I was shocked that I had to call police to be able to get my stuff out of there. I expect all the money back! This was the worst experience of my life, I travel the world, Ive been to 40 countries and I never encounter someone that rude and unprofessional!"
