The water pressure was so bad that my shower didn't work until the evening. The wireless connection was poor. The staff member who helped me at checkin (after a long busride when all I wanted was to relax and have a shower) was rude, and I had to convince then that I had a paid reservation, even though I was showing them on my phone! (I had to buy phone credits to show them since their wireless wasn't working!!)
The staff member I interacted with the next day, the manager, was much more respectful.
This was the worst trip in my entire life, the package to Accra Ghana, purchased through TRAVELOCITY was suppose to be a amazing experience, however after I arrived that andrenaline and thrill was shortly taken away from me. I have used TRAVELOCITY on 6 or 7 previous trips, and they met my expectations every time, but this one no. I had holes in the wall no A/C, the complimentary breakfast only consisted of a cheese and egg sandwich, which I am Vegan, ( no fruit). The room frig was not working, roaches, the water main broke, so I had to bath with a bucket. The WiFi only works near the elevator not in my room. The thing that bothered me most was the noise, people outside on bull horns giving religious speeches at 4 am. The manager (Frank) after all my inconvenience tried to charge me for asking for a later checkout than noon because of a night flight. I was given a $100.00 coupon for my inconvenience but how does a $100.00 towards a future trip equate to the $1649.00 bad experience I paid for.
The Grand View Hotel is loud. Everything about the hotel was nice except for how loud it was. I arrived at 12 noon and was awake all afternoon because my room was right underneath the in house gym. Then at 2 pm a funeral started on the street below, and a second funeral a few minutes later. Accra funeral custom is to blast pop music loud enough that it shook the windows in the panes of my fourth story suite. They ended around 2 am. At 5 am the next morning a street preacher began yelling his morning service, loud enough to shake me awake again. I left the hotel and when I returned a business on the other corner was blasting music for a promotional activity. That ended around 11 pm.
Aside from that, the hotel was absolutely fine. The staff was pretty disinterested in helping customers, but not much more so than many other places I've stayed in town. However, the absolute sleeplessness of the stay means I would not book it again.
Location is right in the middle of slums. Staff is good. Initial room they gave me was very dirty and bad. However upon requesting for a room change, they gave me very nice room. There is power breakdown every day. Besides water was not available for a few hours.
I did not stay at the Grand View Hotel even though I prepayed to stay
there. Why? A cab driver brought me to the hotel about 9:30 PM on
Tuesday, March 15, 2016. The hotel was closed! I asked the cab driver
to find out why it was closed. He was told that the hotel had a fire
on Saturday, March 12. I would like a refund! The cab driver
brought me to the Blue Royal Hotel and stayed with me to make sure a
room was available. There was a single room available which I took.
The hotel is clean. The staff was helpful and a nice breakfast was
included in the price. You may wish to check out this hotel.
The attitude for all in reception was very helpful and gentle.

Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort
Difficulties
The phone number on the Internet was not correct, so impossible to instruct the taxidriver.
But he knew the UTC, and driving around we discovered the hotel.
The staff in the restaurant tried to cheat for more money for breakfast even we have paid for 2 persons, and the pricelist was old, they told us after eating dinner......not nice
The hotel is in the center of center of Accra. Old Accra. The neighborhood is a market. Crowded, horrible traffic. I spent 30 mins to circle around the hotel in a taxi! Traffic, everyday! The hotel is old and stinking. The room was big but not clean. And I was astonised about the size of bathroom, so small. Even for an asian, it was small. The most "interesting" part was the restaurant. Before I talked to the hotel manager, they gave only one breakfast for the two of us, though we were staying in the DOUBLE ROOM. The breakfast was so small that we have to buy some other food to fill ourselves up. The reason they gave was " Because you are small". I am 181cm, 80KG. And they figured me as "Small". Oh, and by the way, the speed of service. I suggest people stay there order your lunch in the moring, so that you can have it at noon just on time. That's when I started to understand why this part of the world is always so poorly developed. God, never again!!!!
It was wonderful as the staff were very friendly and willing to help in thier capacity. However, the location of this hotel is not very friendly if you're a tourist who wants to enjoy your stay due to the busy nature of the surrounding market with traffic during the day. Inside the hotel is very ok as an indoor person.
I felt cheated. Scammed, defrauded!! My first night was horrible!!! I complained about the first room and the put me in another better looking one, Unfortunately, It started raining and i discovered the roof was leaking! the whole bed and floor was soaked! i slept on the couch till morning!!
Please people.. The hotel is located in a slum !!!.. The entire neighbourhood smells bad!! ..., Its a big scam.!!
The hotel staff were nice. The rooms were disapointing. The bathroom was not the cleanest but it did have hot water unlike some hotels through Ghana.

Disliked: Cleanliness
The food is service fast, but the options are limited to chicken.
Its at living neighbor hood with activities in the street from 6 am.
Im not sure the room was clean before arrival, but the second day it was cleaned.
The refrigerator did not work.
Except that is was a nice stay and the internet (only in the lobby) was free and work very well.
WORST HOTEL IN GHANA EVER...AN-EYE-OPENER PLEASE!!
IF ALL HOTELS WERE LIKE THIS...THEN AM SORRY TRAVELLERS OR VISITORS NEED NOT TRAVEL ANYMORE/ OR BETTER STILL IF U TRAVEL, THEN DO LOOK FOR A FRIEND'S HOME TO PASS THE NIGHT(S). THIS HOTEL IS DREADFUL, ITS A TOTAL SHAMB. ITS HORRIBLE, FRIGHTENING. THE ONLY PITY HERE IS THE WANDERFUL AND AWESOME STAFF; THESE GUYS ARE SUPER GOD AND FRIENDLY. BUT THE HOTEL AND MANAGEMENT AS A WHOLE ARE A SPECIAL CASE STUDY FOR WORST HOTELS; ITS DIRTY, NOISY, IT'S LIKE A MARKET-STREET HOTEL. THERE IS A MORNING PREACHER( PASTOR) WHO COMES AS IF HE IS BEING INVITED. HE SITS DOWN STAIRS AND STARTS PREACHING INHE DILECT FROM 6 AM TO 10 AM. HIS NOISE IS SOO UNCONFORTING THAT U CANT SLEEP. I BOOKED FOR 2 PERSONS; WAS PROVIDED BREAKFAST JUST FOR 1 PERSON. THE BREAK FAST WAS ALWAYS INCOMPLETE. NOTHING WORKS; FRIDGE, PHONE AND TIOLET IS BAD. NO WATER PRESSURE IN SHOWER OR SINK TAP. HOTEL STINKS....PLEASE BE AWARE OR ELSE U WILL PAY THE PRIZE LIKE ME.TO BE FORE WARN IS TO BE FORE ARM.
