"Everything was good , reception lady was so so friendly, I which I took her name, (sorry) We had a problem with our window sill slot of water on there from the rain. So the window is leaking from some where, it did rain a lot that day 10/09/26 we did report it, luckily I moved my bag off of the table before we went out. To the floor so it did make anything wet, also the only other thing was how heavy the lids are on the dishes for breakfast, if your older or shorter you could have a problem serving your own breakfast, no need for the bible or book of Moron in the draw in the bedroom either but apart from that. We had a great time."

"Staff. Ok, this isn’t isolated to Leonardo in Cardiff but seems to be an issue everywhere in the UK. Unless you ask the right questions, you will not receive the information you NEED. For example, I pulled into the hotel parking area that is controlled by an arm and monitored by check in staff at the front desk. I paid £25 for an outdoor parking space. On check out, not one staffer said, “oh, by the way, this is the code to leave the parking area”. So when I got in my car, I arrived at the exit, the control arm didn’t raise. There wasn’t a communication device to call the hotel. I had to leave my vehicle and walk the 200meters to the front desk only to be told that I would need a code to leave. I ask, “why didn’t I get a code on check in?” The clerk says, “it would have been written in your room key sleeve”. I say, “it wasn’t, but should have been. You have a CCTV monitor there, maybe it would be a good idea to find out why your guest is sitting there wanting to leave.” “Oh sorry about that.” It’s not a big deal but……. The small important details that make the experience decent or amazing. Today, the staff were decent but failed to provide a good experience. Breakfast: terrible! Just terrible. Others may not see it the same way but I think I’m being reasonable. The scrambled eggs had flour or other additives rather than simply eggs and cream or eggs and milk. Not egg like substance or powdered eggs. The sausage was tasteless and the bacon a bit harsh. It just wasn’t edib"

"This is a historic hotel with a location that is convenient and walkable to many main attractions in Cardiff. We appreciated our extra large room, comfortable bed, and windows that totally blocked any noise from the street. The lift was not working, but is being repaired. The room, however, had only one chair and did not provide bottles of water. Housekeeping in regard to floor cleanliness would benefit from being turned up a couple notches. The condition of the floor detracted from the otherwise pleasant room. On the plus side, the breakfast was generous, elegant, and excellent; it is served in a large grade 2 listed historic meeting room."

"Great location, price and staff. Parking too. We had a room for 3 adults but only had two towels and there was no hot water from the shower. The kettle also didn’t look the cleanest and had limescale. It’s perfect if you want cheap and cheerful for a night out but if you want comfort or are taking older family and friends it misses those final touches"
