Overall the resort was nice and the staff did a good job cleaning overnight but a lot of trash did tend to pile up during the day. The private beach area was nice and quiet. We were always able to get either chairs or a bed on the beach. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. The resort layout was nice and did not feel like a hotel style setup. The food was ok, but not great. Same with the spa. There was a lot of seaweed washing up on the shoreline and there was constantly tractors and workers cleaning it up, which was good. But the tractors were loud and the smell was not good.

We did the privilege room upgrade at this resort. The room was great, everything in the room functioned as it should. Cold AC, great water pressure and hot water. Top shelf alcohol is included with the privilege upgrade, and the privilege restaurant food was excellent. The pools and beach were nice and there were always chairs available. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach each day, but the hotel did their best to clean it up most days. It is a bit of a walk from the lobby area to the beach, so we used their golf cart service on very hot days to go back and forth. Staff was very attentive, and we were asked daily if our room was OK, if we needed to make dinner reservations or needed help with anything. Everyone was very helpful. There is not much to do or see near the hotel. A cab ride to Playa del Carmen for shopping was over $50 round trip. Overall we had a great time. I would highly recommend the privilege room upgrade

The best part about this place is the price, also the staff is friendly. Whoever does the marketing for this place is doing a stellar job, because the vibes on property are very different than those online. The lobby is full of white, sweat-stained furniture -- very gross. It's extremely hot in the lobby as well, they do not have enough fans running and I'm surprised that some of the staff can even work in that environment when it's up to 93ºF [33ºC]. Not sure if there is a water purification system at all, but from my own experiences highly recommend that guests should be extremely cautious when brushing their teeth and showering. The room was very run down and patched together. The emergency fire alarm light would randomly flash in the middle of the night and in the early mornings I would hear odd pipe-hissing noises randomly for a few hours at a time. Worst bed I've ever slept in, my partner and I could feel the slightest movements from one another. Food menus were often mislabeled. It also took forever to get food, was very surprised by the wait time. Food itself had good presentation, visually, but it did not taste great and made many of us very, very sick. A lot of the food in the buffet didn't seem all the fresh. Was very unimpressed with the alcohol choices. No seltzers, very low quality can beer and beer on draft tasted very funky, likely from a lack of tap line maintenance. Property is nice spread-around mostly 2-story relaxing “villas”, not multi floor hotel-style rooms. Very welcoming and friendly staff throughout the resort that make me feel like I have known them for a long while, from the bellboy/cart driver to the transportation coordinator to the restaurant & bar to the entertainment blue team…Etc. Unfortunately, one minor issue. Considering the “reservation-needed” restaurants menus offer top notch options, the most frequented “La Hacienda” the buffet restaurant menu even though it offered variations it somewhat fell short in quality & desirability of the choices available.
