Thank you for taking the time to review and for your positive comments.We are always interested in feedback and hope that our responses address your notes.There are staff on hand to serve teas/coffees/drinks as requested from 7.00-10.00pm - but as we are not open to non-residents, there is not a requirement to have a full time bar worker or receptionist. Our staff have areas of specialism but also a knowledge and capability to assist our guests across the hotel. We are sorry if this was not your experience.We make it clear on our advertising that the bar & restaurant are not open on a Sunday afternoon & evening. in over a decade, this has always been the case - partly due to a pattern of demand over the years and partly because we are a small, family run business and need to have a break too. We offer alternative options in the village and are happy to suggest further afield if requested.Our breakfasts are included with reservations made directly with us, however, online bookings incur commission which we accept on rooms but it doesn't make business sense to pay it on food. The pricing of breakfast encompasses the option to have both cold and cooked options. We have taken a look at the lights and as they are of an old design they will be changed as will the extractor fan - which can only have just gone as we check these daily. There are a number of maintenance challenges with an old building which we have plans to get through as time and circumstances allow. We notice that you scored us well so we are a little disappointed you didn't choose to also include anything complimentary in your review.However we hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay with us.

We take our last orders for dinner on week nights at 8.00pm as the vast majority of our guests eat early. We are happy to work with individual requests for guests arriving by 8.30pm, when asked, however in our experience it is not been required or viable to keep our kitchen open later. Hi Brad Thankyou for your comments ! I'm not absolutely certain in which room you stayed as a couple of them need updating. Usually after a busy Wedding Season we would anticipate bringing a few rooms up to date. We have invested in a number of new mattresses and to make us Covid compliant more recently changed a number of practises. Over the next few weeks with the constraints tightening we anticipate making a few decorative changes as the room demand will drop . Any specific improvements you'd like to see regarding the room in which you stayed might be useful. We are optimistic we will see you again and build on the positives Regards Mark
