Pros:
The hotel property was very pretty and very clean, housekeeping would restock our mini fridge and our room felt fresh and new daily. The beach was wonderful and pretty with some good snorkeling spots right off the hotel with turtles and colorful fish. You could easily rent a snorkel and mask at the activity center for an hour at a time (requires $20usd deposit which you get back in return). Buffets were fairly good with lots of options. The pools were large with nice but busy swim up bars. We enjoyed swims in the pool at night as well.
Cons:
1. We were hoping staff would review snorkeling etiquette as well as telling people not to touch or feed the animals. I worry about how long the reef will last with tourists stomping and touching all the coral. We were encouraged to feed turtles, many guests touching them. Additionally they had dolphins available to swim with, which is very unethical for these pretty creatures. We did not attend this.
2. Many rules for dining, room service with a fee, no food allowed in rooms or at pool side
3. Staff woke us at 230am knocking on the door, when we did not answer promptly as we were asleep they then tried to aggressively enter our suite, only after telling them to stop they left, fairly scary experience. Front reception said they were helping other guests move rooms, which was very strange at 230am and then getting the room wrong?
