"Very very enjoy this place - the family suite room we had was excellent and it felt like we were living in a palace. The staff was good helping us get cars and being attentive whenever we came to the lobby but they didn’t tell us about some of the perks like the night cruise and hanfu clothing which was a shame. We found out when we were checking out and walked past a sign."

"My stay at Shanghai Wonderland was an amazing experience. The food tasted amazing, the property was extremely well managed and the nightly events were excellent. The part that I mostly enjoyed during my stay however was the amazing staff who were all extremely polite and friendly. Especially Betty Wang and Sandy Lin, who explained to me the various things I could do around the property and told me all about the delicious foods I could eat at the hotel. Also, I would like to mention how Betty showed me around the property, told me all about the foods and what they were if I didn't know and even taught me how to use chopsticks better!!! Betty truly helped me with everything I needed and was honestly my best friend at the hotel. Thank you for an amazing experience and an amazing stay!"

"The room has a musky and moldy bad smell. TV was not working properly. Did mention to staff about the smell, they offered 2 other rooms and all were equally smelly. Took one that I thought smell the least but turns out the whole night it just got worst. Sheets were very moist, so uncomfortable and smelly. Couldn’t sleep as I had hard time breathing, the smell was just so bad. Had diarrhea after dining at the only restaurant available there. Saw cockroach in the room. For alila standard, this is probably the worst experience ever. It shouldn’t been rated 4/5 star hotel. Probably 1 star Request for check out the next day. Had to scram to look for another hotel elsewhere. Staff was going to charge me full price including the meal had I not raise concern. They didn’t seem to understand English much. They did waive off the meal in the end and did gave me some discount on the room. I asked the staff to arrange transport for me to other hotel, they did but they made me pay for the transport even though I had to leave because of the poor hotel condition. I had hard time trying to book another hotel as I’m not familiar with the city, the driver was kind enough to help me and drove me to another hotel where I could instantly book a room on the spot which cost half of what alila was charging and condition of the room was much better with no smell in the room. "
