"Amazing hotel in an historic building which is beautifully maintained! It is an architectural treasure. It was built in the 19th century as the City Council Chambers and has fabulous stained glass, tilework and woodwork. The dining room is an architect's dream - originally the council chambers. Our room was so incredible, I could have stayed here for months. Restaurant was delicious and the staff in this hotel were very good. "

"Beautiful parkland and excellent room and facilities - we enjoyed the spa and gym too. The gym was well supplied with machines and weights. All the staff were friendly and helpful and catered for a number of special requests. "Stayed for one night to break up a long drive back from Scotland, and so pleased we did. The location is wonderful, we had a lovely walk along the track just behind the building near the river. Beautiful countryside, very peaceful and interesting to see the remains of a roman bridge and Fort close-by. The room itself was excellent, and the whole place had real character, nice food at the resturant too. Finally thanks to the staff for beong friendly and welcoming, I would love to come back...
