Stunningly beautiful place and village The staff were wonderful, very polite and helpful from start to finish Water pressure in room low, but never easy in a 1000 yr old castle! Will definitely revisit

We enjoyed our stay at this unique historic castle property that has a character all of its own. The standard room we occupied was full of character with intruding roof beams, comfortable and well appointed. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. It was our wedding anniversary and were made to feel special without the attention being excessive. We had a pleasurable and memorable stay.

We had the best time. The castle and grounds are stunning. They do absolutely everything to make things comfortable and provide such great service. Our room was spotless and beautiful. What a wonderful experience.

For a premium Hotel the facilities were poor. If it had been less expensive it would have been fine, but they've clearly opted to go for the money no object customer, and for that they should do better. Our room was dark with almost no windows and poor lighting. The walk in shower looked great, but was in practice disapointing, and the room (again for the money) was in poor repair.

Beautiful hotel in immaculate setting
The Amberley Castle hotel is beautiful. The village is picture perfect and the location excellent for exploring. I have marked as excellent which in most ways it is. The room was beautiful. However maintenance of the room could be improved. One blind was faulty and needed a repair. The shower head needed fixing as dripped rather than sprayed and the shower glass moved so the floor got very wet when having a shower. Small things that did not spoil our stay but surprising nonetheless. Would however highly recommend.

FABULOUS!!!
Took my husband to celebrate our anniversary. It was a surprise and he had no idea where we were going. He was completely blown away as we pulled into the driveway and approached the portcullis. WOW! is about all he could manage to say. Everything about this hotel is just fabulous. Staff are lovely and couldn’t be more helpful. Our gatehouse suite was incredible, the gardens are stunning and breakfast was delicious. We didn’t want to leave. Thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere really special and truly memorable.

Picturesque Stay
Coming from the US, Napa has always been a bit of a getaway for me. So when I had the chance to take a weekend away from Central London and find some tranquility, Amberley Castle was the instant cure. What a gorgeous location. The castle was a sight to behold and the staff, the breakfast, dinner, you name it, it was absolutely sublime. The weather was not the best this particular weekend, but it didn't matter as the room was so nice and just the peace and quiet away from the city was really what was needed. What a treat for those that can book a room at Amberley Castle. Absolutely loved it here.

A Little Disappointing
A beautiful hotel and great staff for whom nothing was too much trouble, but ultimately disappointing. Although there was an extra electric radiator and an open gas fire in the room in addition to the central heating, the temperature never rose above 19ºC, regardless of the thermostat setting. The bathroom was even colder and the hot water temperature and pressure made bathing impossible and showering Dinner in the restaurant was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, but it was more style than substance – perfect for a special occasion but not, in my opinion, for every night dining. My final gripe is with the 18 hole putting course. It has been sadly neglected and, when we visited, it was infested with weeds and unplayable. In my view, this is a very nice hotel, with excellent staff, but with faults which should be addressed if it is to justify the ‘luxury’ description and prices.
