I thought the parking was included with the package with the hotel but when I arrived I had to pay additional $40 for 2 days for parking otherwise the hotel was really awesome I would recommend it again.

The hotel is in a very convenient location as it is very close to the tourist spots. The staff were very nice and helpful. Our room was kept very clean. Our only concern is that the property seems to be a bit old, so it has a funky smell. We had to open the window for a bit upon entering the room to get rid of the smell. Other than that, we had a very amazing experience.

Let’s be clear, the property is dated. Almost to the point of being a “theme” hotel stuck in the 1970’s. With that said, we were very impressed with the cleanliness, location and facilities. Hats off to the house keepers, they must run a tight ship. The kids loved the pool/sauna. Everything was within a very convenient walk, we did not have to drive for the 3 days we were there. Overall very lovely hotel. Only criticism is that they could update some of the appliances within the suite.

On check-in, there was an attempt to charge us for parking, which was incorrect as we didn’t travel to Victoria in a vehicle. We were given a room which I can only compare to an episode of the Golden Girls. There was no air con in the room and only a simple fan. We had to open the patio doors as the room was very hot, and it was extremely noisy from 05:30 am, due to deliveries and bus/coaches arriving early. The sheets on the bed were way too small and again not acceptable. There was no way of getting food or a drink at any time of the day as the attached Resturant was not part of the hotel and closed, as was the gift shop. I informed the staff of the issues and the response was absolutely diabolical. There was nothing Scottish about the hotel apart from the state outside and overall the whole experience was less than adequate.

This property is very outdated. The carpets smelled like dog urine. The wall paper is falling off the walls. It's so old. The furniture is mostly dated. The chairs in the diningroom of our suite need to be cleaned or reupholstered. The beds were super comfy. Everything was very clean except the walls. Lampshades were about to fall off on some. One electrical plug didn't work. For the price we paid, we are gravely disappointed. The pool, sauna and hot tub were great. Gym is not.

Easy walk to Government Street and all the fabulous eatery’s. Close to the ocean and an easy 15 min walk to a great beach. Front desk staff were so helpful. Our one bedroom suite was very roomy.

I visited Victoria to do some business at the BC Legislative. The hotel is located one block away from the Legislative, so very convenient and walkable. In addition, as we had booked a kitchenette, Thrifty’s grocery store is nearby to get food. So, if you need to visit Victoria for an extended length and need a convenient and homey location (with a kitchen), I would recommend the Royal Scot for an extended stay.

We stayed at Royal Scot for five nights. It exceeded all our expectations - especially the staff. We hope to come back soon. Blocks from the harbor and Clipper Ferry terminal. Very (emphasis added) convenient to the scenic center of the inner harbor, Fisherman’s Warf, bus lines, carriage rides, and all sorts of eating options. Five stars all the way.

The hotel was dated but they have used that to great advantage. The rooms were clean and large with wonderful older furniture. It was so convenient --a short walk to anything in downtown Victoria with so many dining options. We'll stay there again.
