It was a nice experience. The rooms were smaller than what I expected. It is an older building and it didn’t have the same feel as the other Fairmont hotels. However I really appreciated its history and the location was perfect in downtown Victoria .

The staff was great and welcoming. We stayed in a 2 bed room. The furnace didn't work properly, one of the outlets didn't work, there's no counter space to accommodate more than 1 person. There is no microwave. Not my best stay, I stay in alot of hotels and this one is overpriced compared to others that have better rooms. The hotel amenities are great and the hotel ambiance is wonderful.

Central location with a cozy restaurant and very helpful valets (we had to park two bicycles and the guys were available and handled our request on the spot).

Excellent location. City view rooms had fairly acreage views, despite being in a better category (king deluxe) - next time we will pick the smaller room with the water views which are stunning. Enjoyed our stay, everything and everyone at the hotel was super lovely

The Empress Hotel was excellent, as always. However, the surrounding area has deteriorated to the point that it no longer feels safe to walk the streets. There is now open drug use in the area, and we saw needles as well as used Naloxone kits very close to the hotel. We used to visit Victoria and the Empress regularly, but I cannot recommend a trip based on our most recent experience.

Check-in was painful as no room for over 2 hours despite arriving on the only fast ferry of the day :-( Surely the hotel can plan this better?

Thanks to all the staff of Empress hotel. Staying at Empress was something I have always wanted and having my birthday there was a dream come through. Though I didn't get all the complementary things they promised me over the phone for my birthday(birthday cake, complimentary wine and one other thing) I only got strawberry dipped in chocolate. Hopefully they'll make up for it next time. I remain humble as always. Thanks Empress for hosting us. The high tea was amazing, the kids dinner menu has the best menu. Adult menu was good too. I love the West coast oysters fermented garden hot sauce, mignonette jelly, citrus. Thank you Empress.

Had a wonderful 3 night stay with our small dog. The Fairmont was so accommodating and dog friendly. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy the spa but we did use the pool and gym. Both very nice. Staff was so helpful when we asked about dog-friendly restaurants nearby. They have great recommendations. We will be back.

We loved the Gold Deluxe room option that allowed us to access the lounge. The breakfast was amazing, with so many delicious options. The appetizers served in the evening were not your typical hotel snacks. The food was similar quality to what you would find on a cruise. The staff went over and above to meet our needs and assist us. We were very pleased with our decision to stay at the Empress Hotel!

Hotel was absolutely beautiful, everyone was so helpful , polite and professional at all times . Decor was wonderful , grounds around the hotel were stunning as was the view of the harbour.Swimming pool was amazing and very quiet , which I loved , absolutely loved this hotel .
