"We were very impressed with our stay. Beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. The complementary breakfast was also more than we expected. We didn't use the complementary bikes or kayaks but appreciate the fact they were there and will keep that in mind for another trip."

The Oswego Hotel

"We have been to Victoria a few times as a family and have stayed at a different place each time. We like the Oswego the best for our family of 4. We for a King suite and it was just perfect. The kitchen is nice, perfect for a short or long stay, the bathroom was great and the hotel itself had so many pleasant surprises. They have a wonderful restaurant (We went on the burger night, and for happy hour, so good!), a quaint but good workout room, reading rooms, laundry room, and even extra bathrooms on each floor. Oh, I almost forgot, all their products are clean, the soap, shampoo, even the toilet paper is bamboo (What we use at home). If that matters to you, it is a huge plus. We didn’t have a great view from our room, but that isn’t that important to us, we are out all day looking at gorgeous views. The location is great for walking, driving, and getting in and out of Victoria. I love how convenient it was to go into the garage with our vehicle and then just go straight up to our floor. With kids, this was so awesome. The best thing about the Oswego was the staff. They were super nice, kind and accommodating. We wanted to use the outdoor fire pit in the garden to roast marshmallows, but the young lady who worked there tried to get it going, but it wouldn’t work, but she tried a few other solutions, but to no avail, but her kindness and effort throughout was commendable. If we can get a good rate the next time, this will be our go to hotel in Victoria for sure."

Strathcona Hotel

2/10 Terrible

"Upon arrival I was surprised by the offer of an upgraded room on the first floor, what I was not told by the check in clerk was that this room #103, was directly over the exit/entrance to the adjoined pub and would be noisy. Significant noise from the pubs patrons carried on until 3am ( this was a Thursday night, heaven help someone staying on a Friday or Saturday). I had to be up for meeting at 6am. Not a good night.. The check in clerk said he'd have the manager call me. The manager didn't call. Will avoid this hotel in future."

"Lovely location with really helpful staff. There was some construction on the roof that was a little disruptive during the day, but all good at night and in the early morning. I’d stay again."

"For a budget friendly option, this is the way to go. Slightly dated, but washrooms were recently renovated and very clean. Staff were very friendly. If you have a car, it’s centrally located."

"Fantastic location. Walkable to downtown and great cafes and restaurants. Parking onsite incl was great. Harbour view but yes is noisy listening to ferries and sea planes. Beautiful view. Standard dble bed room was clean, beds were ok. Seems old and creaky mattress. Room is a Little dated. Bathroom small. Lots of hot water and no issues otherwise. Nice to have a patio restaurant in the hotel."
